Fuel filter
According to Ford, never. The fuel filter is integrated with the in tank fuel pump which means the entire fuel pump must be replaced which requires either removing the bed or dropping the fuel tank. I will be replacing my fuel pump with filter when my truck hits 100,000 miles as a preventative measure. It is up to you if you want to go to the trouble and expense of changing it or following Ford's recommendation and letting it go.
Just replaced the fuel pump in mine, kept throwing a miss fire afterwards, put a can of seafoam in it and presto, like new again.I wonder if I had a water issue to begin with? had filled up the nite before it quit so 34 gal had to be yanked out
