I installed the Revolver X2 less than a week ago and had no issues with the exception of a minor problem with the driver side rubber rail cap seal. The adhesive wasn't holding well and caused it to furl up when I closed the tailgate. I called BAK support and the guy I talked to immediately had something up his **** and didn't seem to want to help. Giving him the benefit of the doubt and maybe him having a bad day, I got his email address and sent him a picture of the issue. A day later, he responds asking me if the rail was pushed all the way forward. I replied within 15 minutes indicating that it was. A day later I had to ask him to please respond with what I should do next. The next morning (today), he responds and tells me to take it to a local dealer to have them look at it. Not a single suggestion or any effort to help further, + 3 days to get that out of him.

After a colorful reply to him, I called BAK and got a different guy. I didn't mention anything about the first guy. Literally within 2 minutes, he identified the problem and is sending me a replacement seal. Super nice attitude to boot.

So, it typically depends on who you get on the phone. Hopefully they weed guys like the 1st guy out and their customer service goes the way of the 2nd guy.

Did someone buy BAK out and Julian Maimin is no longer the owner? I thought I saw some where someone posted that. Julian was great to work with when I had a few issues with my BAK F1. He actually sent me a replacement cover.

Default Happy, so far

Happily, my BAK Roll-X on my 2013 has been great with no problems even in Buffalo winters.

In the videos, they gently press the back down and both sides lock. I have never been able to adjust mine to lock like that. I have to press both sides down individually. No big deal.

Wow. Reading all this makes me cringe a bit
Bought a bakflipvp and to tell the truth. It's one of the ugliest tonneu covers I ever seen. Well maybe mines is. Doesn't seal all the way. The hinges get stuck. The rail is twisted. Bought it back in November and to this day still ugly. Worst investment ever

Default Getting Covered

HEY GUYS, BAK is listening.
I've worked with the company nearly 20 years, for Julian and his father Ivan and now for Truck Hero. BAK Industries has gone through a lot of positive changes since day 1, and is working diligently to meet customer needs with innovative designs and progressive thinking every day.

Taking care of customers is the #1 goal at BAK, it's the same now as it has been for 27 years.

Everyone should have a blue sky experience, but unfortunately it is difficult to achieve 100% of the time. BAK works diligently to produce an affordable, attractive and functional truck bed cover made for today's modern trucks. BAK produces video's and photo's to show the product up close and in person to create realistic expectations for what the products do and how these patented design's are intended to work. All the cards are on the table.

Some products offer a more watertight fit, other products may offer a more rugged design. We try to make a variety of products to meet a variety of different consumer needs at an affordable price between $700.00 and $1,200.00 that provide locking security and instant access, to compliment the way you use the truck bed without interfering.

When solving problems, it never hurts to try more than one direction. It seems persistence will always serve well to create solutions. That is why forums and friendly advise are all so valuable.

Sending a message to support@bakindustries.com is very helpful if you take time to attached photos to help demonstrate the area of concern. Including a name and phone number may even reward you with a "call BAK" solution.
The Customer Service Team at BAK Industries is working hard to get you covered. Everyday is an opportunity to do the right thing!

The blessing is that the BAK Industries products, such as the BAK Flip has become more refined and mature with age. The RevolverX2 is another example of listening to the consumer feedback, both critical and complimentary, to make continual improvements to meet demanding customer needs with superior new products. Roll-X was great, but the challenges it had allowed BAK to bring out an even newer and better model called RevolverX2 that follows in the passion of the original concept. "Simply Work, without looking like a Work Truck".

BAK Industries looks forward to getting you "Covered"!

I understand "watertight" is difficult with this type of cover. The problem I have experienced, now with 2 F1's, is that they are collecting water inside the panels. I purchased my first F1 just under 3 years ago. Last summer I had significant leaking between the panels, and the panels were very heavy from water inside the panel. That cover was replaced under warranty. Now the replacement cover is also collecting water inside the panels. I emailed BAK several days ago but have heard nothing yet. Still within the original 3 year warranty, so will see what happens.

I love the flexibility of the cover and I can deal with some minor leakage. But the water intrusion inside the panels themselves is not acceptable. The panel become difficult to lift and it only progresses to more and more water leaking inside the bed. At this point I am very disappointed to say the least.

It's unfortunate that some are having issues.

I had a G2 for 5 years and although it faded slightly ( my fault as I just washed it but never waxed it) it worked flawlessly and has been passed on to a friend who is now using it with the same results.

I believe install is key with these types of covers and I took a good amount of time to make sure on mine and my buddies trucks that the install was done properly.

The install was per the instructions. Just because some of use have problems doesn't mean we were not just as meticulous with installing. If the leaks were in the corners or around the edges I could see where it could be an adjustment issue with the install. My issue is 2 things, possibly one causing the other. The leaks are in the middle of the cover in the seams. The panels also get progressively heavier as they absorb more water. Where that water is entering what I thought was a sealed panel, I don't know. My previous cover I had boxed up return under warranty I set on its end. Next day a puddle of water under it from the water coming out of the panels.

I have to say that this thread makes me a little nervous. I'm in the market for a cover now and have been considering the Bakflip F1 due to its low profile. I think I'll still end up pulling the trigger, but it does cause pause when it's almost a grand for one. I surely don't want to deal with headaches from it.

Yes, some problems occur that aren't due to install like yours but I find a majority are.
