After careful consideration of say, 8 different tonneau covers including the BAK G2, Peragon, etc I have decided to go with the new Extang Solid Fold 2.0 The original solid fold has some good reviews, and some bad...so does everything. But what I took note of was on the aluminum skin covers everyone seems to agree that they dent fairy easy. The solution is to put a vinyl cover over the aluminum skin for added protection...and added cost. Problem I've found with vinyl covers (that are not adjustable) is that flapping in the wind over time causes them to stretch...and flap louder.
The Extang Solid Fold 2.0 (the 2.0 meaning an upgrade) is a TPO (Thermoplastic PolyOlefin) or UV rated solid plastic cover that eliminates the aluminum, and thereby (I'm hoping) reducing the propensity to dent. Typical TPO uses today are in rubber roofing. Seeing as I was in that Mfgr business for many years lets see how it holds up on a tonneau cover. It should be delivered later today.

I would like to know if anyone else have had the aluminum pieces fail of the cover.I did contact BAK and ask if they would offer a partial credit for a new one or offer make another gracious offer for a new one. I really like the cover. Its performed quite well, its been dry in the bed and keeps the nice things in the bed secure. I would like to look at a Revolver X2 but wont make a move until I here back from BAK.

Thanks everyone.
What was Bak industries response to your request?

3 years now and mine is still doing okay. I've been pretty easy on it though.

After I contacted BAK Industries with my issues with my Roll X cover they swiftly took care of me. Talk about great customer service. The CEO of that company accepted my email and warrantied my cover even though it was outside the original warranty period. It's very rare these days to receive that kind of service. I actually purchased a 2016 F150 today to replace my 2013 and will be using BAK based on their service alone. BAK is the real deal and i've recommended them to lots of folks.

I experienced the same excellent service from their owner as well. My BAK F1 is now about 3 years old and is still in great shape and keeps everything dry. It took one hot summer for it to seal well, but now is bone dry. The only thing wrong with mine is the two little hold down loops (I guess that is what they are called) on the top of the cover are rusting badly. My next cover will be a BAK.

I experienced nothing but BS and double talk! Mine LEAKS like sieve between the aluminum panels and was told it's because it's not aligned properly? Bull... I've messed with it until blue in the face and it still leaks terribly. Can not put anything under it that has to stay dry.

I have their model BAK RollBak Tonneau Cover and could not recommend it to anyone. I received it in Oct of 2013 and it's been leaking for a year now! Extremely frustrating after spending $1100.00 dollars. The cover itself has stood up well except for some minor repairs to the rear seal which needed to be reglued.

I do not use it more then a couple of times a week and there's no way this thing should leak like it does.......... The truck is garaged in the winter also so the cover is not experiencing snow load and ice.

I'm extremely disappointed with this product because of the leaking problems of which the mfg has been ZERO help in fixing.

I feel your excitement. I had a G2 Bak that was 4 months out of warranty and 2 of the 3 panels had internal insulation seperation (say that 10x fast). They basically tried giving me the boot and I happend to get their emailed response at a company chili cook-off and half a 5th of Jack later I respnded in a pissed off and basically threatening statement. Needless to say I received a brand new G2 4 days later free of charge.

The "owner" had to sell the company because it wasn't well run, and the new owners are improving the product and the customer service.
