A Truetrac isn't a locker, it's a limited slip with worm gears instead of clutches.

Maybe my terminology is off but crossed up is exactly when you would want lockers! Crossed up to me means you're traversing at an angle and the suspension gets crossed up and you lift a tire front and rear.

Either way, selectable lockers are awesome but there is a huge cost vs the trutrac.

By crossed up I mean stuck between two obstacles and your wheels are turned to full lock one way or the other. That puts extreme pressure on your axles and cv or u joints. Being able to open that front diff makes a huge difference.

Copy, just got to baby it! Lol of course who's getting crossed up in these trucks! That's Jeep territory!

Very true, F150's aren't known for having a tight turning radius.

This, and so much more...

I was an "expert" back in my wrenching days. So please don't be offended by my asking you to listen up: A Eaton/Detroit Tru Trac is *NOT* a "locker". It is never "locked"; ever. It always has a "give", for lack of a better term. Through a series of spider gears it merely transfers

(edit) ***********so now my full comment will not post? What gives?***********************

When you get in a tight spot being able to unlock the front diff takes extra pressure off the weak links in the axle. Look into getting an ARB air locker if your serious about locking up your front diff. You'll be glad you did in the long run, plus its always nice to have an air compressor on board. I see you have a "highly modified" Wrangler in your stable, I really miss having my Jeep :-)
Had a TrueTrac in the Jeep's front diff before going ARB and a Detroit auto locker in the rear. The TT very docile in 4WD and completely transparent in 2WD.

Looking to add a TT to my front 8.8 IFS in the F150. Dont need full lockers in it, thats what the Jeep is for.

Not yet. Cant not verify if the application will work on the IFS style axle. I did confirm that the Wavetrac unit, the one used on SVT Raptors will work. However those are almost 3x the price of the Detroit.
