Unhappy Front end still grinding after IWE delete kit.

I have a 2011 ford f150 fx4 that I’ve owned for about 5 years. It started making a slight grinding noise that gets more noticeable as I increase speed in 2WD ONLY. I thought it was the IWE system failing so I installed the Dorman 600-405 Wheel ends. Once I lift the truck and spin the front wheels the cvs, and front driveshaft spin with no sound. But as soon as I’m driving down the road in 2wd the grinding is there. I do have new wheel bearings as well. But once again the noise in only present in 2 wheel drive. The shocks, tie rods, and control arms are all pretty new as well.

Could be the front diff. Maybe drain a little of the fluid out to see if you have any metal shavings. Wouldn't hurt to check the transfer case as well. Has the fluid in either one ever been changed?

I’m not sure on the diff fluid, transfer case has been changed and I just checked it and it’s good. I’ll have to check out the front diff as soon as I can but praying that’s not the issue 😂 thank you!

When I had my '13, I sucked all the fluid out of the front diff around 100k and it was UGLY. Color was essentially battleship grey, but no flake. I kept my IWE's, but a friend of mine with a 2016 truck capped his IWE solenoid, so his are always engaged. No noise from either truck (mine could be simulated as engaged hubs but unloaded in 4W auto). If it only makes noise when unloaded, id start by looking at the diff, but the axles and front driveshaft should be looked at as well.

I did the delete also, its been that way for a year but its been disconnected for the last 8. I have a hum but everything is new upfront. It could be further back in the drivetrain but i dont have issues otherwise. Im thinking about pulling my rubber lines and capping the plastic at the firewall.

i ended up buying a second set of deletes cus i thought my original mechanic broke something. If i upgrade to a new f150 i’ll have them for that truck. *** IWE
