Fox Coilover Problems - 4" BDS Lift

Where to begin..

So I had this pair of fox coilovers initially in my truck, as a leveleling kit system before I had my 4" BDS lift put in. I wanted to keep the fox coilovers with the lift, so I had the shop that installed it drop it down to +0, and they put the 4" BDS puck back on top of it.

What im getting is a loud clunk noise, more so seems when the tire is traveling down vs up, but it's so quick it's hard to tell.

Now when you look at the picture I know your gonna say is holy **** that A-arm is close to the top hat, they trimmed that down and that doesn't seem to be it, but not fully ruled out yet.

Im not sure if I'm crazy or what, but where the puck meets the coilover it looks like it's pushing outwards (towards the wheel). Also notice, and correct me if I'm wrong, I could of swore that fox shock was dead center in the middle of the coil, you might be able to see how it looks like the shaft is actually super close to one side of the spring.

My questions are..

Can I replace that coil with a 6" fox coilover and drop it down the 2" and get rid of that puck.

What else might be wrong thats that's causing this?

Anyone running a 4" lift could you please post some pictures for comparison. Regardless if it's stock or aftermarket uca's or coils.

I'm really hoping to get this issue fixed ASAP so any insight would be greatly appreciated. Would like this fixed before something breaks

Just a guess here, but I think they have the top hats on the wrong side. The are driver and passenger side specific. Your springs look horrible being bent like that, and the shock should be in the middle of the spring, not closer to one side than the other.

When I called them and told em about it, they said they're on the correct sides. I'm not very tech when it comes to front end suspension, but even by the blind eye..that doesn't seem right. The shops an hour away so it's hard for me to just bring it in. Gonna go take a look now and see if I can see the l/r sticker on the spacer.

I think they adjusted the shocks the wrong way. The spring is super compressed, causing it to bow to one side (hence the shaft closer). Also, the threads on the shock body look like they were cranked up based on the wear of the threads (silver part). Noise could be the spring straightening when the week drops.

That definitely looks messed up. I'll see if I can post some shots of my RCX 4" setup.

Mine. Passenger first and then driver. Shot from inside the front. RCX 4" with stock shocks and UCA.

Yah mines not even close to that, I'm curious as to why my uca's dip far enough to reach the top lip of the Coilover, as where yours look to be an inch below.

What is between the fox coilover and the 4" strut spacer? It almost looks like the stock cap was put on top of the fox coilover. Anyone with experience with these know if that is how it's supposed to look? Because also, if you have this back down to just 4" and installed a 4" kit, your CV joints should be completely level. (Take a look at SteveLords CV's in his pic...they are straight as an arrow). Yours look like you have 6" with a 4" lift kit. And yeah, you have Icon UCA's and nothing should even come close to touching those even if you had the 6" coilovers with a 4" kit. You can see the top of the fox coilover bowing outward toward the UCA and it 100% is not right. It very well could be the strut spacers were installed on the wrong side or upside down as they are angled a specific way so the issue you have never happens. Good luck figuring it out! You were right to think something's wrong.

I also agree with antoniodef and it could be that they cranked the coilovers up instead of down. There does seem to be a ton of threads showing on the bottom there....

You know I'm feeling just straight stupid right now. You're absolutely correct on that spacer. It's literally the 4" spacer on top of the spacer that's used in the BDS leveling kit. Can't believe I'm just noticing that now. Hence why I never got it back when they "finished" the job. I'm so angry right now. Here's a picture from when I bought them without that leveling kit spacer on top..https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.f15...3c72856fc6.png
