fox 2.5 coilovers and 2.0 rear shock

Hey crazyPD, that thud you are hearing is the front suspension running out of droop travel. I have the same set up as bigbyrd73. The fox coilovers are set with to much preload. I had to raise the preload nut 4-5 turns in order to regain the droop travel. Doing this does lower the front end a bit, but it allows the suspension to work much better. I also removed the front sway bar. I am very happy with it!

ya n84gach has got it.... The sway bar limits droop travel by an inch....you dont need to run the swaybar with these coilovers. The springs have a high spring rate either 650 or 700. Try just taking the sway bar off and see if u get the clunk..otherwise i took off 6 full turns on pass side and 5 on driver side. you probably dont need to do that much. Nice truck n84gach! by the spanner wrenches from mckenzies offroad in orange, ca. u need 2 for the diff sized on perch. cost me $8 bucks each...definitely worth it!

N84, those are some sick looking tires. you liking those generals?
did yall also have a bad angle on the upper uniball with the preload set to high, and did lowering the preload, did this allow the uca to sit more level with the lower arm? so is the problem these coilovers with max lift just stretch the lower arm down away from the rest of the supsension to far??
will spend this afternoon trying to hunt down some spanner wrenches.
i also removed the sway bar over the weekend. read for trucks that are lifted or go offroad they limit travel and flex. and with these big heavy fox coilovers, i can't even tell it's gone, even when cornering.
thx for the help guys. me and my truck appreciate it a lot.

the angle on your uniballs with your new a-arms is what its design for. now keeping stock a-arms with you rnew coilovers is a different story. you will tear those apart really quick. Just make sure when you get your truck aligned that they just dont just adjust caster and toe in. most tire shops only do these. if you have them aligned and your tires look awkward from the front then they did not set your camber correctly. adjusting camber reruires them to adjust the lower a-arms bolt by your diff. watch them closely...and if they tell you need to buy cam spacers and bolts from the dealer for 200-300 bucks theyre full of crap.go to a specailty alignment shop .Thats right swaybars will limit droop travel. these coilovers are good!!!!good luck!

hey bigbyrd,
did you adjust them down yourself? got my spanner wrenches and tried. pretty hard to spin the compression ring. wondering if truck needs to be in air with tire drooping or on ground. and after lock ring loosened, just get on it and spin to desired spot? or does the spring need to be compressed a little to allow compression ring to move freely?
don't want to mess the threads on them up buy turning with pressure, or maybe that's just how it is.
thanks
