Fox 2.0 shocks and coil overs all around 1 wk review
#332
So I found a good deal on these Raptor rear shocks. I was going to go with the 2.0 F/R kit but I really wanted the rears. In a few weeks I think I will be getting the 2.0 Fox front shocks, as much as I want the 2.5.s I cant justify spending 2 times as much for them. The ride is so much better with the rears alone! Following this thread helped me get motivated in finding replacements. Thank you for everyone's input on this thread!

I have a question, I bought raptor take off's front and back. Your right the ride is a lot smoother and rear's were installed. Do I need to change the knuckels (spindels)?
I did get the lower and upper control arms and tie rods from a raptor. Besides the lower bolts for the front shocks ( Longer), is there anything I need? Your install is different because your fox shocks are made for your truck. But I thought you may know the the answer. My truck is a 2010 XLT Super crew and I want to install the Raptor shocks. Did you notice any lift? Raptors come stock with a 2" lift. I have 2" lift now. I was wondering if I should leave them on? I did get the leaf springs for the rear, I noticed they have 2" blocks. Thanks for your help.

I just wanted to say my old shocks felt like an empty beer can compared to the raptor
rear shocks. 94,000 miles on the truck. The photos really don't show how big and heavy the front shocks are. They are narly.
After the fronts are install I will be able to take off the spacers needed to get the tires extended to match the Raptor fenders.

So has anyone experienced a metal rattling noise over sharp bumps? I raised my coilovers about 3/8" and everything is tight. As low speeds I can hear was sounds like the coil or ring rattling when I hit a sharp bump. I saw someone on stage 3's website had this issue as well but no response.

Ratting Shocks
I have had them on my truck for 6 months now, there is absolutely no rattling noise at any speed. Considering the vehicle weighs almost 3 tons, the shocks rattling seems nearly impossible. I would look at the hood mounts, cab mounts, bed mounts, etc.... I am not an expert on shocks, but to me it just makes no sense....
