ALOT of cussing, swearing, sweating, and taking a lot of breaks... Those coilovers are ridiculous to adjust... Had to use a 3 lb mallot to whack the spanner wrench to turn the preload.
Anyways, enough bitching... It took roughly 7 full rotations to drop roughly 1". So, if you want 1/2", maybe roughly 3.5 rotations. I emailed Fox support directly, and basically said... trial and error.

They told me with whatever the new design is, I really do not need the wrench. They said when they are mounted on the truck (can't remember this part) either fully extend? or compress the spring to remove the preload... loosen the set screw and then your able to adjust by hand.
Anybody with a 2014 have these and is this how they are adjusted now??
I know I'll find out, just wondering in advance..thanks!
Edit... forgot to ask with the 14's.. I thought I read where you only need 1.5" lift for a level???

If you have a spring compressor, you can hand turn the rings once you loosen the top ring. If you don't have a spring compressor, you will be getting a work out. Even if you have a spring compressor and adjust it, you don't know how much it may have dropped until you install it. My approximations of 7-8 turns dropped it 1". They do come fully extended (2" inches"). I didn't want it fully extended as I did not want to level my truck since I use it to tow and didn't want my headlights pointing into the sky. I dropped it down to a 1" lift instead so that I would have that rake still. Some people complained with the ride fully extended at 2", they have a stiffer ride or it made some noises. So, it was a plus for me to do it either way. If they changed the design within the last 3 months, I don't know anything as that was when I purchased mine.
I ordered mine today... I did order with the wrench, but have a question.

Thank you for the order!!
Youll see what we mean, they have a new "finger adjustable" lower collar on them. The wrench will make it easier.

The wrench's finger needs to loosen the top ring to adjust the 2nd the ring.
Do you have a picture of the "finger adjustable?" I'm curious to see how they changed it. This is the pic of the style I have to adjust.

It was almost a good day...these showed up
I get to the dealer, and am waiting for the car rental place to show up... service guy comes out says they can't install the rears... bad bushing. least I didn't have to eat the car rental, but now I gotta wait another week
Side note (question) the top of the struts... in the picture they look angled.. is that normal, or are they bent? The top one looks straighter than the bottom one(in picture)
