Thanks for the updates guys.
I had 5100's on top perch on my tacoma and it rode as nice as I'd expect. Right now I'm just trying to decide fox or icon for my fx4. Between the price difference and the reports of the icons being a "noisy " and the foxes being "stiff"(some say)
I don't know what the hell to do.

I just installed the rear fox 2.5 with reservoir. It is a bit stiffer than stock, but doesn't squeak. I think putting in a few miles and running a through bumps will soften it up a little. Better than a squeaky suspension.

Might consider the BOSS from F150 lifts as well ones as well. No noise from what I have seen, or experienced, and though firmer than stock its a more composed ride that really defies the 700lb/in springs used. I never considered the Icons but was considering the Fox setup. From what I have read I think either the Fox or BOSS would meet your expectations.

I'm with HCFX2013 on the rear strut thoughts. I've had some concerns with the ride of the truck and couldn't figure out what it was till I put some weight in the bed and it tamed it a bit. I need to change to different rear shocks (waiting for the BOSS rears as well). Several people changed from the Bilsteins to the BOSS front coils and are happier, so I'd presume they are better in the eyes of some at least. I think you might be over thinking it as I was back when I was concerned about spring rates and the ride quality.

I put my 2.0 on a while ago and I'm still head over heels with how they can be smoother than stock and able to handle the nasty stuff too. True excellence in fabrication and performance.

FAR superior to my Ranchole Quickcrap that lasted six months before failure both front and rear.

That is correct. Its a larger shock then the 5100 which provides better performance and dampening, as well as having a tuned spring / valving combo. Great way to go

They come with directions on how to adjust them, sounds pretty easy as long as you have the spanner.

Yeah it says use a chassis lift and is a little confusing to me.
Can I just use a jack stand to get the pressure of one side at a time?

Yes. They are just covering their a** by saying to only use a chassis lift.

Just an update, as I got a few extra miles on this week. The quality of these shocks is impressing me more every day as I hit more rough stuff on and off road. I have two sets of pretty uneven train tracks just down the road from my house and I've hit them at about 60 mph and these shocks just soak them up. When I'd drive over them before I had these shocks, it always sounded like somebody took a hammer to my wheels. My wife even made a comment about the ride being smoother, and she used to always complain about how rough the ride was in the back when she sits with our baby.

Also had a chance to get off road a little on some ranch roads and the ride is much smoother, albeit a little firmer, and just feels like overall the truck is more planted and stable. Here are some pics with the shocks on, before and after the new shoes I just put on this week. Has very slight rake, overall look is perfect IMO...
