found this unplugged???
Help what is this and why would the dealer unplug it had the dealer install amp steps and a afe cold intake what is it and its been unplugged for 6000km on the drivers side firewall where brake booster is. I think it is vacuum lines and would it screw anything up. Now that its plugged in a swooshing or what I thought was the new afe setup air rushing in sound is gone I guess it was a vacuum leak that was making that sound

Well I will have to assume I know what year and model truck you have and if it is 2w or 4wd?? but if the color of those two wires on that connector are Grey/red and Brown/blue then that is the IWE solenoid and is used for the 4WD
Also what was disconnected?? your picture doesn't show anything not connected that I can see and you mention you hooked up back up but again maybe a arrow to what you hooked up would help? If it is the connector *(electric two wires) that would not make a noise or cause a vacuum leak sound or leak! so was it what is on top that is the electric connector. was it just below that or even further down?

Sorry I was asking about what you connected but I edited my last post so could you tell me was it the electric connector that you plugged back in or the vacuum hose just below it?

Well your front hubs would have been locked in all this time, the way it works is when it is in 2wd there is power sent to the solenoid which pulls vacuum at the hub which unlocks the hubs.

So nothing hurt since the transfer case isn't affected by it,,, if it was snowing it would still go into 4wd and since it was disconnected the hubs would have been locked so it would still work as you wanted. It would be more like a AWD as the hubs are always locked in. but other than a possible .09 loss of mpg it isn't a biggie!

since it was the electric connector you connected then no you would have nor will you now hear a vacuum leak *unless there is another leak somewhere* but if you were to disconnect the hose below the connector then you would hear a vacuum leak and that is why I wanted to know,,,, either was no harm done!
