Default Found the Effin water leak source!!

ABOVE IMAGE: This is the driver side cowl drainage view AFTER removing front driver's fender. It is an off angle image so you need to imagine the image so the FRAME is horizontal. (or tilt your head rightward)

ABOVE IMAGE: The cowl drainage area referred to in other image is just out of frame in upper left corner. <br/>The open seam above is one area that was leaking water, which was then pooling in the kick panel area right behind where the hood release latch is mounted inside cab.

* I will be posting additional images with my solution, etc.
* This design is inexcusable !
* Just like the other, all to common complaints of rear window, 3rd brake like,
satellite antenna mount, etc., leaking ! This is inexcusable !
* Do these Ford engineers need to be retaught concepts of fluid dynamics?
* It's truly incomprehensible how this type of ultra crappy, illogical design can
pass inspection. This would be inconceivable to the German engineers who
built my Audi.
* I just bought this truck in October (2011 F-150 Ecoboost) and it took until
now to finally track down the problem.
* And are these the same Genius engineers that decided, "Hell, we don't need
no stinkin' gas cap.... there's NO WAY water will get into there"

Looks like I have the same leak on my 2014 SCREW. Now I just need someone willing to get the fender off and seal it up.

Not gonna claim to be expert on what the subframe areas look like, but that looks suspiciously "non-factory"...as in, possible that the truck has been involved in an accident and repaired? Just a thought....

True. The German engineers who "built" (designed) your Audi are too busy with figuring out basic electrics. If you don't like the truck and think there are too many leaks, perhaps you would be better off selling it and buying something else?

Somebody's been in there removing a bunch of the foam and plastic alignment pieces that are supposed to seal those seems up. Likely because the rail was replaced as a result of an accident. Check out the picture bellow from when I rebuilt my truck, this is factory.

EXACTLY the reason my next car or truck will NOT be made and/or engineered in America!
Just too much JUNK made by all big three.
My car is already NOT an American engineered product and it's been trouble free since made in 2007 now with 109k. And that includes even the front rotors!
My Ford 150, will that convinced me, NEVER AGAIN!

rntonp, Sorry u are having this issue, but THANK U for sharing your findings with others. Seems as if it already helped "ballyhoo" & I am sure he will not be the last. IMO, your Truck has been fixed improperly, hopefully that doesn't ruin thoughts on the F150. However, I will agree that there are "designed" things that really **** me off too! Again, thanks for sharing.

Note: "paintballdude05" your photobucket link isn't working & PB is so annoyingly Ad'y.
Just upload Pic's directly by clicking on the little photo, next to the Smiley face, in the toolbar

Sorry you don't like your F150, but did you bother to read this thread? Doesn't seem like it.

The link worked for me, although Adblock does show 25 items blocked on that page.
