Forscan applications
#4061
Just wanted to post quickly. I installed LED taillights a while back with resistors. Well within a month, the cheap POS resistor malfunctioned and I had hyperflash on my left signal. Right seemed to be unaffected.
Fast forward to today when I had a little time to dive into forscan. Firstly, I want to thank all who have posted here and throughout the forum. It has been a huge help. When I downloaded the latest version I found a lot of it is now plain English. This was great as I was able to quickly disable bulb out for front and rear. Problem solved.
While i I was in there, I also activated DRL. I might go back in and activate the dogs for DRL as well. But for now, it’s just the front side marker bulbs and the front turn signals.
Just wanted to say say thank you and let others know that forscan is making more available in plain English format now.

Is there a forscan for dummies yet?
I can’t program anything, don’t know where to start, I don’t own a laptop, IPad only.

Good morning all,
I did a search on the thread for the words "9.75", "rear end", and "differential" with no luck on what I'm looking for, so here's my question...
I tow a camper during this time of year. Last fall, I found a great deal on a 9.75 3.73 EL rear end. So, I'm swapping out my 3.55 LS rear end for the 3.73 EL in the next few days. Due to the (although slight) difference in RPMs, is it possible to adjust the differential gear ratio in Forscan? Or is this something I'll need to have done at the dealer?
I DO already know that this 3.73 will not be connected to any modules to monitor speed and whether the EL is turned on/off. But the 3.73 is also available in a LS version, so that should be irrelevant.
Thanks in advance.

I don't know about the PCM, but you can in the BCM. It is line 726-45-01. You may need a tuner to change the PCM...I am guessing that is needed since it has to do with power train but I can't guarantee that.
Edit* Also for the ELD part it is in the IPC at line 720-01-01

Here's a stumper question for all ya FORSCAN guru's...
I have a 2013 F150 & replaced the original Steering-Wheel with a Raptor-Wheel. Ever since I did this the "phone button" located at the very bottom right, has not worked. All the other buttons work fine & called SYNC today, updated it & finally, did a master reset. SYNC stated the new wheel must have a bad switch or poor connection. I then popped the wheel back off & unplugged the wiring harness, then plugged it back in... Still doesn't work, but all others do!
So I just called TASCA to ask about getting another Raptor-Wheel & they told me there's a Module inside the Steering-Wheel, which is not recognizing the SYNC. The Wheel & the Truck are NOT married anymore & I must have FORD program it w/an IDS. I am just not agreeing with this, but wonder if anyone else has heard this or would know if I can do this w/FORSCAN??

What about the old switch, does it work? If so use that instead. There is no module in the steering wheel other than the airbag, there is one in the steering column though, SCCM.

Is it possible to reprogram a VIN using Forscan? I have a P0630:00-AF (PCM) / P0630-C (OBDII) code with check engine light and am trying to figure out how to fix the issue. Figured since it's a communication issue with the VIN and PCM, that reprogramming the VIN would fix it possibly?
I also have a U0422:00-2F (PCM) and a B2312-20 (DSM) code as well if anybody knows how to fix those.
Thank y'all.
