I got a Pm from someone whose local to me with an 18’ truck. He wants to know if I can program his trailer controller when he gets the parts. It’s been a while since I’ve used forscan and need to get a renewal on my license. No biggie, my concern is this individual would have to somehow back up his as built but I’m guessing if he’s asking me, he might not have a laptop.

I had dificulting downloading my as built so I took screenshots of all the lines. I’m thinking he could do the same. My other concern is when I plug into his truck it’ll pull up his profile and I don’t want it overwriting mine. I’m pretty sure I click don’t overwrite and I’d make another profile.

Finally, to get the code and which line I have to go into the 15+ section and find it there.

Does this his sound correct to you guys? Am I missing anything?

EDIT: I need his VIN to get his as built info

Save with a new name and you won't have overwrite issues. Just like saving a Word doc.

This is correct... I have my F150 data, as well as my wife's Fusion data saved.
When I go into FORScan the program automatically brings up the correct vehicle for me to confirm.

Is there a service feature I can set the idle speed? Or something if I want to do a service on something. Example I want to clean the throttlebody or increase the idle speed a bit while I pour in some Seafoam or something is there a way to do that with ForScan and not have to get a buddy helper to give it gas?

No, idle speed is in the PCM. I kmow my sct x4 can write a tune with idle speed adjustments but I found it easier to just use a piece of wood or something slightly heavy and adjusted how the thing was resting on the pedal to get to about 2500 rpms. I did that when I was using the turbo safe injector cleaner.

To be honest though, to clean the throttle body it takes 4 bolts, one hose clamp and 5 minutes to remove. 5 minutes or so to clean, and 5 minutes to put back on. Just make sure to disconnect the battery before removal as it is electronic.

While thats possible w/a Tuner, Seafoam has advised NOT to do that, just get a helper...

The Throttle Body itself is better cleaned by removal, however, do NOT force or move the Throttle Plate by force, especially if still hooked up in the Truck. That Throttle Plate is gear driven & thus can crush your fingers easily. If you force it while removed from the engine, it can knock it out of its home position & will have to be re-calibrated. Ford Tech Makuloco, has stated this in one of his Video's.

With that being said, Seafoam cleans so much more inside the Intake & Upper Cylinder's. I remove the Throttle Body to thoroughly clean, then spray a can through the TB as suggested to clean inside the upper engine. Don't forget the bottle in your fuel tank too.

Is there any chance I can get the As-Built settings for IPC 720-07-01. I changed it to show (Engine Temp & Trans Temp to show above gauges for 8-inch display only) but accidently overwrote my as-built backup. The changes work, I just want to have the original values for posterity.
This is what I changed to (changed values in red):
702-07-01 8409 8E50 60FA

2018 F-150, Lariat, 3.5 Ecoboost, 501A

Thank you
