I'm tempted to order it but the price is a major setback considering I want to install the backup sensors on a corporate fleet 2014 F150, but unwilling to sink my own cash into the project.
I may pick up one of the “blue” adapters and see how it works. Definitely don’t want to shell out money for the official adapter just to tinker.

Default Outstanding

Struggling with getting the "aftermarket remote start" code activated...I hope this tutorial can help. With summer upon us it would be nice to have that option. Since I already installed the antenna in the roof liner and connected it to the module on the passenger side and have the keys cut (and programmed I think) getting the code activated through Forscan is the next/last step...

Wow huge thread. Did anyone successfully use this to enable a keypad on model that didn't come with one?

I remember reading post years ago that someone was able to convince dealer to modify as built data and keypad worked. That seemed a one off case though.

EDIT: Although the instructions state 2011-2012 it works for 13 and 14 as well. They discuss using IDS for changing the asbuilt data and this is because it was posted pre-Forscan. Use the values listed.

I did, as well as enabling "dark mode"

Just did this in my 2013 ecoboost SC, just turned on daytime running lights to fog lamps.
super easy and followed these instructions exactly.

I did have to have my car running as the first time i got an error message that my battery voltage was too low to run the scan.

Thanks for the great write up.

The module is not in the CD player which is the ACM. The module is called the APIM and if you have it, which you should considering my 2014 XL has one, it will be a slim black box located just under the center dash tray behind the dot matrix display. It will have a 54 pin connector and a female micro usb - B port. You will likely have to pin the harness yourself to match whatever you are doing. I have a PDF floating around these forums of the mapped out pins for Sync 1, 2 and 3.

You will need ForScan but I think activation is a misleading term that makes it sound easy. It is not easy. Think more along the lines of reprogramming the entire Sync unit.
So, I came across a 2014 JY truck with Sync in it. SO I took the steering wheel, with the 2 sets of cruise and volume control buttons, the radio (probably didn't need that) the face to the radio (my volume button is screwy) the ac controls (mine work but are scratched up this one was not) and the Microsoft Sync module, a big piece of the 54 pin wire harness, the microphone and USB extension cable and piece. Now, I know it has been said it won't be worth it, I am better off going with an MFT but I don't have an MFT I picked this up for less than $100 and will likely get $30 of that back when I take this radio back as I likely DON'T need it. So, No, I know for a fact I do NOT have a SYNC module I have no APIM in my truck. I am HOPING to find a 54pin sync cable under that dash matt but I won't hold my breath. This is SOUNDING like I will have to chase down all 54 of these wires and "Splice" them in???? So each wire of Sync rides on another connection other than power and ground???? Can anyone offer some clarification?
What would be involved in "activating" or waking up Sync basic? Do I need to go into the APIM and put my VIN number in it? Do I need to go into the body control module and tell it SYNC is an option it has? I wanted to take the whole wireharness until I realized it went down to both ends of the dash and I have no idea where it would have finally terminated. I AM HOPING I have a wire harness for my microphone I know I will need that too. I know U Connect (the Mopar version) has to find a microphone or it won't come up at all.

Unless it was offered on a higher trim, then chances are it can’t be enabled or added. I have not seen anything suggesting it is possible.
