When PATS programming first came out for the 12th gens it was pretty buggy with few people reporting that it actually worked. In the last few updates it seems to have gotten more stable. I programmed keys for my '12 F150 as well as a '11 F250. The F150 only had one original key left and all the keys for F250 were gone. I was able to erase all the old keys and program the new cut ones.

I think I will park near the dealer on a Saturday. One of them has a powers sports store that is right next door that I can park in and not get hassled. That whole erase all keys and something goes wrong scares me. But the dealer wants $80, which doubles the cost of the key, to program so worth a shot. I Bought a genuine key from a Ford dealer online so should be here next week.

Thanks for the help!

I s it possible to disable the passenger airbag on 14 stx ?

The reason I NEED to be able to do this is my wife has had to have
a Sternectomy. Which removed her entire sternum, an all of the cartalidge ,a and a couple
of her ribs.

IF an airbag deploys and hits her in her chest SHE WILL DIE.

We have been married 25 yrs. I would like to keep her around another 25 if i could

So if any way to do this is possible . PLEASE help me out.

That might be a problem for other drivers.
If you look at the way it is wired in, you may be able to put a switch in the circuit. It should be located where it can be switched from outside of the seat just in case.

The bag can also be removed which would be OK as long as no one else rides in the passenger seat.

There are four OCS sensors under the pass seat. If you disconnect (maybe just one) them then I think you should get a light saying the pass airbag is disabled.

There's also a weight sensor in the seat, iirc, that activates the airbag when it senses there is a person sitting there.

That may be a safer avenue of attack.

There was in my ranger. A bag of laundry would make it deactivate and a light on my dash lit up.

That's awful. Sorry to hear that. However, if an airbag deployment would be an issue, wouldn't the trauma from the seat belt as well? I'd think that would be MUCH worse than an airbag deployment. Something to think about....

At least with the seatbelt, she could put the shoulder strap behind her back and use it as a "lap belt"
