Do they actually have that many more or has the 11-14 just not been researched as well?

The truth is, with enough research and know-how, you could upgrade some modules to the 15+ and add features you shouldnt have. This has been done in the BMW that I own to add features my modules couldnt handle. I'm not sure in the complexity, and people would have to test for different things but I dont see why it could not be done.

I for one would still like to add the global window. When I have some time I may get around to researching what I can do to add this feature using a newer module, if its possible, which I lean towards thinking it is.

Compared to a BMW these trucks don't really have that many modules. Most of the desirable features are run through the BCM, that's the one I'd look at swapping out. With that said, you'd probably have to repin a lot of connectors just to make the electronic side of things work. Then you'd have to figure out how to mount it into place. Definitely doable, it'd be a cool project for sure.

I think it would be easier just to program an arduino or something to open the windows after so many clicks, or if as you hold the unlock button down if those power door wires continue to send power then you could do a time to hold. Throw one of those in each door or a main one with wires running to each door you want the windows to go down on and you should be good. Boot time should be less than a second so tie the main power into something that turns on with the first unlock press.

LMAO at the deer in headlights look of those trying to figure out what an Arduino is.

Yes I know what it is, have one my self to lower landing gear on one of my drones using a sonar sensor.

lol probably true, this is where I got the idea.

I have been tempted to repurpose one of my arduino boards for this. I didn't due to forscan and wanted to see its abilities, but maybe one day I will have extra time to waste on this project.

Mock up belly shot of my gear ard/sonar pre install. I had to remove that gear for it to work obviously.

Works quite well.

Default Patience to install new cluster

After that all options should match and then you just have to get the speedo programmed by a certified shop.
My doner cluster in the 14 xlt only has 2,800 mi. more that my 14 stx so I will bide my time. One curious question though, I have stated my doner cluster has six (6) out of eight (8) codes that are different than mine. I have read some of the threads that someone will just exchange the clusters and everything is OK! How can that be possible when all stx's are base XL's and when you upgrade you cluster to the 4" window you are going to xlt-Lariat-Raptor, etc. You would thing that all upgrades would certainly have upgraded packages.

Smile Cluster swaping

Can anyone chime in. I have read several threads where someone has stated they just buy a cluster and install it and everything is ok. When a person is upgrading from a 1" window stx cluster to a 4" window xlt cluster or Ftx, or Lariat, or King cab, ect. they are normally upgraded packages. How can it be possibe that a person would upgrade and everthing is fine. My doner xlt cluster has six (6) out of eight (8) different codes, than my stx cluster, plus axle ratio, and tire size differance.
