hey guys and gals, i just installed and enabled the upgraded perimeter alarm and long range remote start with bi-directional key fob. i activated the remote start function with the for scan app. Everything works fine except there is not anything showing up on my dash cluster settings, "remote start run time" etc. I triple checked everything and can't find the answer. I would think that activating a Ford OEM part on my stock Ford that the option for adjusting remote start functions would automatically show up on my dash cluster "settings"??? Please help if possible. My truck is a 2014 f-150 XLT 4x4 5.0L, truck DID NOT COME WITH FACTORY REMOTE START.

You have to enable it in both the bcm and the icm

Thanks for the link. i noticed there is multiple "720-01-02" lines to choose from. Which one exactly did you have to change? What were the as built numbers and letters? and what numbers did you change to get the Remote Start options to show up on the XLT LCD dash cluster? Sorry for the 21 questions just trying to get it right without guessing. Thank you again.

720-01-02

xxxx xF2x xxxx

Remote start with rear defrost on my 2013 XLT.

If you don't have rear defrost, or if you don't want it on the menu, then:

xxxx xFxx xxxx

Default Buyer beware

Just a heads up, all I did was search "ELM327 Bluetooth" on amazon.ca and buy the first prime one that popped up.

DID NOT WORK WITH MY 2010 F150

Well, it didn't work. I got this error:

After some messages with the seller I was told:
Dear friend,

Thank you for your contacting with us!
We are sorry that the item is not compatiable with your car.
Any other question,please contact us!
So now I shall skim this thread for successful purchases and pick up another.

I have never used amazon's return process before, so I guess I'll figure that out today!

OK. So once I enable remote start using the info in this thread, I understand I only need a key and I will get minimal RS capabilities. Which is fine, because from the window of my bedroom, the truck is only 10 feet away. My question is, I have read about an Amazon key that works and some that don't. Is this one of the keys that works?

Hard to tell until you try it. With those Chinese keys it's a 50/50 shot, but for the price you can't beat them.

Just one thing to remember, with most of those keys, you will need two step programming to get them to work properly, the one step integrated keyhead instruction in the manual will not work.
