My question is how do I know if my truck has RS truly installed and if that's true, how can I activate it with forscan?
If you have a visible antenna by the rear view mirror, it's either a Ford accessory add on or aftermarket. Either of which will have a fob to lock/unlock remote start (maybe). Look around under the dash and see if you can find a box where the antenna goes into, should be a label or something on it with numbers that might identify it.

I will do that when it warms up a bit outside, thanks. In the meantime, I got my window sticker from etis and it does have "With Remote Starter - FIA". Does that mean its installed already?

Hmm possible I suppose if you have one of the high end trim levels, I don't know for certain.

Did a little research on that system, this is what the fob looks like that came with it.

the fobs I bought work for the locks and alarm. Are you saying i HAVE to buy the ford oem fob? Or is there something I can program in the GEM to make them work? Or am I screwed and have to visit the dealership?

Dunno, I'm not familiar with the system. Found the actual installation instruction kit and there are 2 possible fobs not just the one I posted above. Perhaps the part#'s will help in your search to find them.
