All brands are gonna put in some kind of V6 technology in there half tons to get the fuel economy needed to be a real fuel eff truck but to do that they need to reduce the overall weight in these trucks, I really dont beleive all these shutters, valences, mirrors, side boards are gonna add but 1 mile per gal. Minivans (similar weight)get 20/28 with a V6 engine, this is what there after.
I agree with you that the shutters, valances, etc won't add but 1 mpg. But right now, there's a battle between brands of who has the most fuel efficient truck, and it only takes 1 more mpg than everyone else to be the best in that respect. Also, with the government's fuel standards that are being imposed, engineers have to get creative to figure out how to squeeze every mpg they can.

A truck's weight is obviously a large concern when it comes to fuel efficiency. But so is the shape. There is a reason that all the Prius's and Honda's hybrid are the same shape - it's fuel efficient. They're basically shrunken down minivans. And that helps minivans be fuel efficient, along with weak boring fuel efficient V6 engines. The basic shape of a truck can't be changed - without a bed, it's not a truck. So it has to be little tweaks that, alone, probably don't make much difference, but together can create improvement. And V6's already account for (from what I've read) about half of new F150 sales, so it wouldn't suprise me in the slightest to continue a move in that direction.

Anybody notice the little LED screen in the console? (it seems to be a little LCD screen at least) its facing backwards to the rear passengers and its between the air vents. Looks VERY slick. Overall, I'm excited about this truck!!!

This concept appears to be as wide as the Raptor and just bigger then the current truck. Also noticed screens in the exhaust tip, hope those are for astectic purpose only. If I had my choice I'd have the exhaust tip exit the sides of the bed just aft of the rear wheels.
Concepts are cool, however, waiting to see the final production version...

I Love that Truck, Im Probally not going to Like the Price Tag on though if they make something close to that design concept. I Planned on keeping my Truck for the Long Haul, but we will see when 2015 - 2016 comes around I guess..........lol

Gotta say looks like there is alot of room for large spare meat's under the truck...35"-36"

Users are going to hate that there isn't a tailgate handle to open the tailgate with even more.
