as you can see, just buy the Ford ext. warranty online and save big bucks. I bought my particular warranty through Flood Ford, the cheapest I found at the time. This place even had some cheaper plans depending upon the amount of coverage you choose (http://andersonandkoch-ford-warranty.com/).

I normally don't get extended warranties, but I know the Navigation system and power running boards on my 09 Platinum are super expensive and I don't want to pay out of pocket to fix them. As an added bonus, just about everything else is now covered too with the Premiumcare warranty. It was like $440 for 3 years/36k of additional coverage. I don't put many miles on and this will expire just in time for me to buy the new 2015 redesigned model.

null, I printed off the quote from Troy Ford (same as the other online guys) took it to my dealer, and he came within 50 bucks to match. So, I bought it from my dealer just for good faith.

I consider the complexity of the vehicle I'm buying. For a base model car/truck, no way. For something that's loaded with all kinds of electronic goodies that can break, definitely. My electronics package for my Mustang was over $2,000. I don't want to have to pay that (or more) if it breaks in the first 6 years or 100k miles.

Also, the hourly rate for repairs will only increase over time. So that transmission replacement that costs $3k today, might be $5k in 6 years.

Of course when you buy an extended warranty you're betting the vehicle will break and the car company is betting it will cost less than you spent to fix anything.

Are you saying you got the 6 yr/72k warranty for $440????

Or that you have a 3 year/36k PremiumCare ESP for $440?

This. Electronics are expensive and I don't want to drop a bundle if one day I go out and something doesn't work

Thanks to all of you guys, I will do some more research on a warranty. Boy, the finance guy was really pissed I didn't go for the $2400 warranty, then he dropped it down to $2050 and I still said no. Quite angry, going through the paperwork super fast, then he said good luck.

Meet my new F150:
