New TSB 14-0040 Superdes TSB 14-0014
Eh guys, went to the dealership today. I live in Ontario, Canada... My truck have the same issue. Look at my engine oil last night and 1248.7 kms from the last oil change and the oil level was 1/4" higher from where it was when I did the oil change. There's a new TSB (14-0040) which supersedes the TSB (14-0014) . The online publication date is yesterday February 25, 2014 from Ford. The service manager wasn't believing me at first and he look and see saw this new TSB just released... Anyone has this NEW TSB done on their truck???? I'm just scared to loose some power and fuel economy as "swflford" did!!!!!!
Because they changed the same components as the old TSB (14-0014) and a new "reflash" of the PCM. I just wonder if the new "reflash" is "better" than the old TSB????????!!!!!!!!!!
If anyone got the new TSB performed, PLEASE let us know how it worked out for you!

Well, crap! I just installed the thermostat housing heater about 2 months ago. Now it sounds like it calls for a traditional freeze plug block heater. Geez, we now are supposed to plug in at 0°?
Sounds like they are connecting the dots on the whole MPG/slime in the CAC/timing chain wear issue. Knock on wood, my oil level stays right at the full mark.

And if you look at the data, Toyota has quite a lot more problems than Ford and it's even though they sell in far, far less numbers.
From the consumer affairs site:
Toyota Tundra problems: 292
F-150 problems: 72

Don't get me started... And don't get me wrong, I love my truck but paying over 40 000$ and always at the dealership to fix something and most of the time, I had to go more than once and twice to get it fixed the right way...
If you don't have anything better than that to say, just go waste your time somewhere else , not here!!!!
I'm trying to help people with the different issues and get help in same time. Enough said

A piece of advice - ignore the majority of the Internet problems and focus on issues you are having, rather than could be having. The net tends to amplify things.
Enjoy your truck and keep up on the maintenance and you will be fine.

Problem is, as of now they are saying there is no problem. Meanwhile trucks like mine are running around with a crankcase full of oil diluted with raw gasoline, certainly causing premature wear of the very expensive internal components.
So, once they determine a fix for this oil-making issue do you think they will offer me a new engine, free of defect and free from the excessive internal wear that occurred while my truck was running around with gas in the oil? Of course they won't. As long as my engine is running and still under warranty they will simply correct the oil making issue and expect me to be thankful. Meanwhiile I've now got a very expensive engine that is compromised and more likely to suffer premature catastrophic engine failures.
Not to mention, once the rumor gets out that this engine may have an inherent design flaw that is causing a serious problem, the resale value is going to go through the floor much like the 6.0 (and 6.4 for that matter) diesel did. Then, even if your particular engine isn't affected, your resale value will be.
As I said earlier, I believe that a very large number of these engines suffer from this condition. I think most go unreported because many people don't bother to check the oil on a new truck. Or, they check the oil and think nothing of the level being slightly above the hash marks on the dipstick. I could be wrong, but the only two Ecoboost engines I know of were both overfull when we checked. Coincidence? Maybe.
