You always insert the dipstick fully to get a reading.

honestly if Ford came out and recommended it be done and the dealer could get parts and do it for me and guaranty it would help my engine longevity I would pay to have it done.

I rarely keep my trucks past 36k miles so I am not worried about it to be honest. this one I kind of planned keeping longer but I have changed my mind since owning it 5 months.

I was afraid of that, tsb was done Tuesday. Oil level about 1/4" higher today from Tuesday when I got it back. So much for a ban aid. One thing I did notice was it warms up a lot faster. Wonder if the computer update actually increased fuel usage on cold starts to get oil contaminates into vapor form to get sucked into the intake faster.

heck, I wouldn't worry about it at all. I would think if your a guy that's planning on keeping your truck for 100k+ then I would be concerned but if your a guy that trades them in with 50-60k then I wouldn't sweat any of these issues..drive it and enjoy it and then trade in for something else..

This is what we see as well. Lets get SWFL to stop in here to demonstrate the fix that works...

Like Swflford I was also the victim of a 6.0l powerstroke and now a less than thrilled owner of an ecoflub. More $ in our f350 plus the ecoboost than I have in our home. Tuner has me concerned enough to trade in this one as well.

There is zero possibility that a catch can that requires periodic emptying is ever going to be a Ford factory or tsb solution. And I can't imagine that it would be EPA compliant even if Ford wanted it...

Is this how the addendum to the owners manual would read?
Dear customer, please remember to empty the FARCE (Fuel Air Recycling Collection Equipment) receptacle {aka catch can} regularly and dispose of the toxic hydrocarbon sludge in a responsible manner.

Do those that have the issue short trip their trucks? I think that's part of the issues as DI engines can put more fuel into the oil than port injection.

I also hang out on Bob is the Oil Guy and have not seen many UOA's with high fuel dlution from Ecoboost engines.

With all due respect to Tuner Boost, someone offering up a problem and a solution has to be taken with a healthy dose of skepticism. I don't doubt he has a quality product and that that stuff is present in the system. But I think in a properly functioning system it gets harmlessly burned in the engine and out the exhaust. It is the ones that are not getting rid of it that are causing issues.

Even if you don't intend to keep your truck past a couple of years, once this issue becomes widely known and accepted it is going to negatively impact the value of your truck at sale time.

Tuner Boost, if I intended to keep this truck I would be happy to bring it to you and I believe that your fix would be effective, unlike the TSB recently performed. But after my experience with the 6.0 followed by this I'm going to take a break from the Ford family for a while. I've got a deposit on a 2012 Ram 2500 with a Cummins that I'm basically going to just trade this truck straight up for.
