Did you have ny noticable issues before th vibration? Was there any earlier indication there was a problem?

My clutch pack needs replaced for a HARD clank on downshift from 5th to 4th. Only noticed it when driving through the mountains but I've been waiting over 2 months for it to come in and no word yet.

Just a vibration when turning from a stop. Forward or backwards.

I was advised by a friend that 3 F150s with LS rear ends needed clutch pack replacements around 30k He told me to get ready, .. since I'm at 27500

Apparently its a known issue, and thats also why there is usually short supply of parts to fix, since they are in great demand..!!

I'd just replace the whole carrier with a Detroit Truetrac L/S and be done with clutches.

You would think ford would of got the clutch pack issue worked out by now, seeing it has been going on since 2003. Three F-150s that I have owned 03,04,and 07 have all had problems with clutch packs. Warranty wouldnt cover them on my 03 which was BS.. I agree with the above post, get a detriot trutrac.

Dumb question, but does the e-locker on the FX4 have clutch packs? I thought I'd read somewhere that lockers don't have them?

Seadragon- our fx4s are an open differential when not locked. So no clutch packs.

The clutch pack problems extend into the superdutys too my f450 needed them at 11k miles. It had a shutter when turning at low speed.
