Default Alignment

Ck to see if you have lower cam adjusters on lower control arms these did not come on from the factory, if not you need them. Moog makes them there are about 50.00 a set quanty 2 . This will let you adjust camber and caster. This will resolve your problem.

Well I just dropped my truck off at the dealer and they informed me that I have to pay for an alignment if I want it aligned after they put the new balljoint in. I was thinking that would be covered if the balljoint was defective, but they said no. It's starting to look like I should have saved my money instead of buying this warranty.

If you're going to be stuck paying for yet another alignment, plus your tires wore prematurely, I would not let them have your business. If you are going to pay, at least take it to another dealer and give them the business rather than the one who missed the problem for months.

This is a different dealership. From previous experience if a suspension component was replaced the alignment was covered as well.

I would take it to another dealer this is not fair to you. You need to call ford and complain majorly this if your still in warranty will get you somewhere. Be nice at first then keep getting a little louder and madder till they give in.

I have the premium extended warranty and that doesn't cover alignments. I think it's pretty dumb but that's just me

It should cover it if the failed part is covered its called subsequent damages. Call ford tell them the story and that you have had multiple alignments due to the dealer not fixing it properly the first time. I am a ford tech and know quite a bit of the warranty rules in example. The 6.4 litres had an issue with the t-stat hyperextending causing radiator failure the radiator was only covered if the t-stat was at fault. The radiator was subsequent damages covered cause the t-stat was still under warranty and caused the radiator to fail.

Just got off the phone with ford customer service and they told me I get to pay for another alignment bc my truck has over 12,000 miles on it. Even after I told the rep that it has been aligned 3 different times and never fixed. She claims replacing a ball joint does not effect the alignment of the vehicle and told me I should take to the GM of the other dealership that aligned the truck. The amount of problems i've had getting my truck fixed is almost enough to make me go back to chevy. Ford has them beat on quality but their service is horrible and it is a total pain to get anything done.

I must applaud you for being so calm about this situation. I would have flown off the handle a while ago... So will you eat this and still love Ford or give another company your money?

I'm really not sure to be honest. GM quality isnt great and I dont know if I could go from sync to their joke of a bluetooth system. The main thing that really upsets me is that my warranty doesnt appear like it was worth it. There is a local shop that I have taken past truck to get aligned and never left unhappy. But now I dont really want to get a part installed somewhere else and then drive to that place just for the time factor. I would strongly suggest thinking twice about the premium care warranty. I'm going to check and see if I could cancel it and pay for the service i'm currently getting but I'm sure they will not let that happen. I think its a joke that ford thinks replacing a ball joint does not take the front end out of alignment. This is probably why ford didnt need a government bailout. GM would have warrantied all of that and I would have only paid 50 buck. the rep actually told me to go talk to the GM of the other dealer and maybe they would reimburse me for the previous unsuccessful alignments. I'll just save my breathe bc that will not happen.
