but I have to travel for work. My truck has 68K miles on 2011 Certified Pre Owned
this is a joke
truck is snapping on changing gears "under throttle"
I drive it like it is supposed to be driven, not some grandma 30 mph on the turnpike way either
its basically a piece of ****
all the times it had been at Maroon/Autonation Ford of Miami
when this thing breaks going 75 mph and I am stuck in the middle of no where on my way to some little town in another state, I will be UPSET
again,
I will never buy another Ford because if they can not get this right after spending so much time in dealerships in Miami and North Carolina, then why buy a $50,000 truck (because that's what they cost new) to spend more time in a dealership getting it "fixed"

My 3 chevy's I had, blow yours away with the problems I had. Don't get me started on the customer service.
My buddies 2 yr old tundra, is a complete **** box. Always something with that truck.
A coworker dumped his titan in 6 months, he hated it so much.
You could get into another Ford and never go to the dealer with a problem in 10 yrs.
My 05 was 9 years of loyal service.
It's going to be a crap shoot no matter what you buy.

So 65,000 plus miles of this problem and 5 previous repairs and I got my truck back today.
The big fix..............grease the caps on the rear driveshaft ujoint.
Wow Ford, wow.
Problem has gotten inside my head at this point. .
Actually looking forward to vehicle replacement time now. The something special about having a Ford truck is not as strong for me as it had been.

this is horse sh*t
My truck has been making a loud series of pops or clicks when shifting into reverse. Once in a while when down shifting at light throttle it will do the same.
Here is a copy from the info Ford provided my dealer:
SPECIAL SERVICE MESSAGES
22384
2011-2012 F150 with 9.75" rear axle built from 1/1/2011 - drive line click, snap, pop, tick.
CUSTOMER MAY EXPERIENCE A CLICKING, POPPING, SNAPPING, TICKING OR CREAK NOISE IN THE DRIVELINE WHEN SHIFTING FROM PARK TO REVERSE OR DRIVE, OR CHANGING FROM REVERSE TO DRIVE OR VICE VERSA WHILE THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY AND BRAKES ARE ENGAGED. IT MAY RESULT IN 1-3 SEQUENTIAL CLICKS AND NOT REPEAT WITHOUT CHANGING DIRECTIONS. THE SOUND APPEARS TO COME FROM THE REAR DRIVESHAFT AND IS MORE PRONOUNCED ON VEHICLES WITH AN ALUMINUM DRIVESHAFT. IT MAY NOT BE EVIDENT INSIDE THE VEHICLE IF THE DRIVESHAFT IS NOT ALUMINUM. ENGINEERING IS WORKING ON A RESOLUTION TO THIS CONCERN AND NO REPAIR SHOULD BE ATTEMPTED AT THIS TIME. ADVISE CUSTOMERS THIS ISSUE ONLY RESULTS IN AN ANNOYING NOISE AND VEHICLE PERFORMANCE IS NOT AFFECTED. MONITOR OASIS FOR UPDATES.
EFFECTIVE DATE: 01- JUNE-2012
Anyone else have any info on this or more experience with the issue?
Thanks.

and now here working. The transmission pauses/stalls between shifts
and Ford "engineering" is the cause of the problem
I need it fixed but have to wait until I am ready to leave in a month from here back to Miami
Will take it to some stealership here and see if the "red neck shade tree mechanics" can fix the problem because those dumbasses in Detroit can't.
And don't ever deal with the Ford "CSM" people on here
They can't do ANYTHING to help correct the problems
This is becoming a major issue of people with F150's with aluminum "slip yoke" drive shafts
It will take someone stalling out on a rail road track, getting killed, having the NTSB investigate and then US NHTSA force Ford in to doing a recall
THEN and only then will we either get our trucks bought back for what we paid or the problem will be solved

And probably more truth than rant.
I totally agree.
But with the "New and Improved 15' Model" coming soon to a dealer near you.
Our problems will be shelved for whatever noises Ford engineers "Engineered" into the new truck.

i went and spoke to my mechanic who performed both TSB's for this issue. hes worked at my dealer for years and i was very impressed with him & his work when he replaced my short block a few months ago...
i asked him why did his repair seem to fix my issue and so many other people are continuing to have problems with this? i wanted to know what was his great secret was!
this is what he told me:
"no great secret with the repair work... however, the second TSB includes a metal ring that is used to raise the oil level and this prevents the clicking sound."
he also went on to tell me:
"for the guys w/a 2 piece driveshaft, it is very important to also fully service the driveshaft at the same time when performing the latest TSB".
sorry, but this is all he gave up to me last week... good luck for those who are still pulling their hair out with this one!
on a side note: i have taken it upon myself about every 6 months to go to a off-road/street specialist shop who does gears, tranny, etc.. and have them pull my driveshaft out to re-lubricate the splines. this removes the dreaded slip-yoke issue. however, my truck does let me know when its getting close to return for a return visit.

I sprayed WD40 in the flange where the rear of the driveshaft meets up with the slip yoke about 3 months ago. Hasn't come back.

Well I have good news and bad. Good news is I brought my truck to the dealer today and they performed TSB 14-0090. As of now no more click/snapping sound . Bad news, whoever worked on my truck failed to close the hood and it popped up doing 105kph down the expressway! No damage luckly, but called the dealer and left a "polite' message to the service rep...
Anyways, the dealer changed the pinion seal, 4 drive shaft bolts, added new shim to the pinion and changed the diff oil.
Current mileage 24,529kms.
Sbrc (126" wheelbase) 4x4 5.0 2013
