Ford Said Crappie A/C Is Normal
I have been dealing with A/C that doesn't cool for a long time now. When it was noticed, I was working 84-100hrs a WEEK and didn't have time to bring it in. Then it got cool so I kinda forgot about it. Well here we are into summer again and the A/C issue showed its face again. I am seeing 48-55* temps out of my vents. It could be 70*outside or 95* outside, it doesn't matter!
What really set it off was i was on the way to bring my sons to the doctor. It was 83* outside and the ONE HOUR DRIVE to the doctor i NEVER had to turn the A/C off of Max. I got my son out the backseat and he was sweating. He's 1! I bought a thermometer for testing. I would see 48-55* temps.
Bring it to the dealer I bought it from for repair. I get a call the next day and they said come pick it up. I get there and I'm told they got 42* vent temps and there wasn't a issue. I said no you didn't, it's never gotten below 48*. They said oh yeah we got 42* and we even used the thermometer you had in the grill. My reply was, why would I have a thermometer in the grill if I wasn't monitoring a issue, that's a lie you never got 42*. Yes sir we did. Ok prove it! 50* is the coldest they could show me. I get the service manager and tell him I'm not happy with this. He said we even updated the HVAC system because it needed a update. After the update it was 1*warmer. I asked if he put it back where it was and he said no.
Contacted Ford Service and was told to bring it to another dealer. I did, they said it's not right and end up changing the expansion valve. I pick it up and on the 30min drive home it's the same temp as before, 48-55*.
Contact Ford Service again and they told me to bring it back and I did. Pick it up and was told Ford Helpline said that 48* in 85* outside temps is within range. Service manager said my truck, a 2011 feels the same and I'm not happy about it either.
Meanwhile the rentals I'm getting while my truck is in the shop, there A/C is in the 30s! The Kia Sorento got 37* A/C vents when it was 91* outside.
So now I'm waiting for PMs, EMails, & Calls to be returned from Ford about this. If they consider this to be normal I will trade the truck in and never buy another Ford again. I bleed Ford Blue, I don't want to buy something else but this is unacceptable to me! Every other Ford I have owned had cold A/C. This truck shouldn't be any different!
Rant Over!

Lemon law as far as I know must leave you stranded and also requires me being without a truck for X amount of days and I only been without it for a day or two. Not to mention driveshaft bump issues. Was brought in 5 times and 4 times repairs were made for that.

Z7 stay on em man. I feel your pain and frustration with having to deal with an ongoing issue and back and forth haggling with the dealer. You should bring up the point you've never registered below 48 degrees lately with your vehicle when the loaner registered in the 30's.

I feel for ya Z7. My 2013 was the same way....45-48 degrees was as cold as it would get. It's one of the reasons I traded it with 22K miles on it for a 2015. They must have made major changes to the system because it WILL freeze you out and I'm in Texas. 90 degree day this week and it will show 38-39 degrees at the vent. I vote trade that sucker, the '15's are in a different league all the way around compared to the prior model.

I have brought up the rentals getting in the 30s. As for getting a 15, I'd love to but the issues with this 13 makes it hard to go back to Ford. I bleed Ford blue but this truck doesn't make it easy to go back to a Ford.

I feel your pain, literally! I have the same issues and have heard all of the one liners from Ford and then some!
