Issue: Ford Remote Access app review

The Ford Remote Access app is available for both IPhone and Android users to control vehicle features. The app lets you remote start, remote stop, lock, unlock, audible car find, and there is even an optional feature to receive security notifications.

Read to find out more:
  • What, if any, are the costs associated?
  • Do you have to go to the dealer?
  • What hardware is compatible?
  • How well does it work compared with aftermarket devices?
  • What models are compatible?

As I'm finding out if transferring from a 2014 to a 2015/2016 you'll need a different T-harness which seems to be only available by buying the VSS module. All I need is the new harness

When the 2015's came out though Ford introduced a new VSS # FT4Z-19A361-A

The older trucks used DL3Z-19A361-A so the question is was the harness the only change or was the actual module different . If the modules are the same then you are correct it would work with the newer harness. I wish I had a part number for the harness only but it's not listed anywhere in my docs.

Has anyone transferred their remote access modules from a 2013/2014 to a 2015/2016?

Will the door keypad still work with this system. I had an aftermarket on my 2010 platinum and the keypad would not disarm the alarm.

Yes - agree with DJ2014 - it doesn't disable anything - it just adds funtionality. All other original equipment works as advertised.

Thanks for the replies. Ordered last night from Benny. Can't wait to install it. As I mentioned I had a Viper on my Platinum and absolutely loved it. Used it every day.

Installed this over the weekend. Entire process took less than 15 minutes. Benny activated it over the phone for me. Could not have been easier. Highly recommend Buying from Benny.

I just ordered from Benny based on all of the feedback here. I'm really looking forward to installing it in my 2013 Platinum before winter starts!

I've had mine for a year now and LOVE it. You'll enjoy a nice warm cab in the winter. The heated seats are nice too as they come on when the truck remote starts.
