Issue: Ford Remote Access app review

The Ford Remote Access app is available for both IPhone and Android users to control vehicle features. The app lets you remote start, remote stop, lock, unlock, audible car find, and there is even an optional feature to receive security notifications.

Read to find out more:
  • What, if any, are the costs associated?
  • Do you have to go to the dealer?
  • What hardware is compatible?
  • How well does it work compared with aftermarket devices?
  • What models are compatible?

Default update

Mine is still not working. I asked spindance why they closed my original ticket and got this response.

Greg,

We mean no disrespect by closing this ticket. it is an ongoing investigation that we are working to resolve. When the issue is fully resolved your device will begin to function again as intended. There isn't any technical issues that we can provide. Can you please let us know who told you to contact us so we may address that issue? We are the billing and subscription provider and all other inquiries are to be directed to 1-800-FORDKEY

Thank you for understanding.

Thank you,

SpinDance Support Team

This kind of follows my thoughts posted earlier. Spindance knows this is a widespread issue, There is no need for each subscriber to contact them individually. Unless there is a re-activation process that needs to be performed for each SIM ID I would ask that everyone just hang in there until they get this resolved.

This is their standard answer, my buddy and I got the same one.
I called the mykey number this morning and spoke to someone at Voxx Intl. (Audiovox is the manufacturer) I asked what the problem was and when it was going to be resolved. He said they are aware of it and they have "a ton of engineers working on it".
I mentioned to him that my shock/impact sensor part of my system was still sending me texts when it was triggered and that I am on the Verizon network in case it made a difference to them.
I also asked him how widespread this outage was and he said that he's getting calls from the Midwest to east coast, I didn't get that warm fuzzy feeling that they have their hands wrapped around this issue quite yet.
Just hoping they get this figured out before the cold weather gets here...

This is an important part to all of this. I had a feeling since it wasn't system wide it had to be a geographic problem which will ultimately help indicate where the cause of the problem actually is.

I hadn't kept track of where the people are located that are having problems vs the ones that are working fine (like me), but it's probably pretty apparent that it will follow that outage model.

If someone in either the Pacific or Mountain time zone is having the problem problem I'd be a little surprised.

I am in Alberta (MST) and my system works fine. Good thing too, as the weather has turned cold and snowy here.

Mine is still down, same message.
