Actually, little things like this that add up pretty fast when you sell a half million of these trucks a year. Even if it cost Ford just $5 a piece to make, that would be $2.5 million a year.
I read an article back in the nineties that Ford stopped painting the inside of the ashtrays in the Explorer because it saved them $1 million dollars a year. Pretty savvy if you ask me.

There bitching because the price of trucks didn't stay the same, they went up. There for you are paying more and getting less. More about making there profits bigger then keeping the cost of trucks down. I mean really, who thought they would be paying 50K for a half ton truck?
