Ordered mine from Ford. Passenger side went on fairly easy just had to push up on the liner a little to put the retaining clips in. The driver side was a different story. Was harder getting it inside the fender well lip. Also I had to use a board to push it up enough to get the retaining clips in. Really like the look now that they are in. Anyone else have that problem of one side being harder than the other?

Glad this thread got brought back up. Mine showed up today and are sitting in my living room floor. Anyone have any insight on installing them with WeatherTech mud flaps? I have both parts waiting to put them on, but curious which one I should put on first. Anyone with experience with this particular combo?

jack your truck up by the drawbar if you have one, leave the tires just touching the ground. i would put the liners in first, i have the Rugged wheel liners which come down a little further in the back. all go on easier if they are warm and yes the instuctions suck. i had to drill 2 holes in my liners but they were dimpled where to drill or use a punch. Alligator Performance that advertises on this forum has Rugged Liners shipped for a little $83.

I have factory flares, OEM liners, & Weathertech flaps. Only the latter was installed by me, the rest was done at Ford. Its a bitch. Good luck reaching your fingers in between the fender & wheel liner to put the nut on for the flaps. Of course mine was harder than it had to be because Weather tech shipped me the wrong hardware kit & the bolts were too short for the rear flaps. I had to go get longer ones & even then it sucks. If you do not have flares it should be a little easier.

So put the flaps on first? I thought that might be the case.

If I remember correctly I think I had the flaps on first. Like others have said, warm up the liners first. I let mine sit in the sun and it was not really bad. I did have to drill out a hole on one of the flaps, but it had been over a year since I installed them so my memory is kind of fuzzy on all the details. I did find that using a very sturdy broom handle came in handy when installing the retaining clip to the bed frame. I used the tire for leverage and it made putting that clip on much easier, plus I used a dead blow hammer to hit the clip on too. Over all it was not a hard job. If you put the flaps on first you will have to remove the bottom bolt to install the liners, so I would put the liners on first.

I installed mine in an hour(both sides), I removed my tires and went to work. If you have mud flaps, I'd remove them for the install. The rest went pretty easy for me.

If that is possible I would give it a try; I don't recall any reason why you could not. They share a common bolt on the bottom but the flap goes outside the fender & the liner goes inside so that should not be an issue. Putting the flaps on without liners would be a breeze, it only gets difficullt when you have liners--just no room to get that one top nut on the back side. I was taping the nut to a box end wrench & everything. A socket & ratchet is out of the question & even difficult to get the box end wrench off the nut when tight. Liners then flaps is not impossible but not enjoyable either.

My dealer's accessory shop is doing mine tomorrow. I already have heavy duty mud flaps. They will remove my flaps to install the liners and then reinstall the flaps. They said they have done many of these.
