They are USAA but like many others they broker what they can when it saves them\us money. Best part about them vs others, went they broker they continue to manage thru the third party for you. Better than just selling your loan or whatever....

Exactly. When it makes sense for USAA to directly provide the product, they do, such as Home owners, auto, banking, life insurance, and investments. But sometimes they are able to provide a better value by contacting with a third party, like mortgage brokering or long term care. Some times they have to provide third party products, like flood insurance, which is only sold through the federal government, and windstorm, which is often a state government product.

of course, a FORD DEALER that you bought your truck from is going to try to charge you $3,000 for it (its extra profit for them).

If you go to a FORD DEALER online, and price the same plan, its usually at cost or a little above....

So, the supposed 3,000 plan you are quoting at the dealer, could very easily COST $1200 if you buy the FORD ESP from an online FORD dealer selling them.

I don't know about you all, but I bought my FORD ESP from a dealer in Rhode Island (I live in TN), an I feel comfortable that I can take my truck to ANY ford dealer. My contract is online, VIN accessible to all ford dealers.

So, what dealers do warranty coverage under a USAA extended warranty??????

USAA is member owned and there to protect the members.

Ford is stockholder owned, and there to protect profits.

Because of this simple fact, the USAA plans cost ALOT less for the same coverage provided by Ford, I paid just over $1,200 for the same plan that cost $3,000 from Ford.

Plus USAA contracts with shops all around the country, so you can find a mechanic you like.

Love USAA!!!

Probably all of them.
The dealer would do the work and the payment should be made by USAA.
At least thats the theory.

I definately would not want a "probably" when I'm in an unknown town and I have to have my truck fixed!

Probability and theories aren't really definite answers!

i feel good knowing I can roll on into any FORD dealer and my problem is taken care of with my FORD ESP purchase.

anyways, there are about 10 other threads on extended warranties........do what you feel best with...

Ford ESP plans stay with the vehicle and transfer to a new owner (not sure about other plans). This can be a good selling point if you choose to sell your truck.

Which Ford dealers accept USAA insurance for body work after an accident? All of them do. These same dealers will script the USAA warranty too, because they make too much money off of USAA body shop repairs to risk losing that business.

I can't speak to whether or not USAA is a good plan, but I have the Ford ESP. It has been simple to use and I've been completely satisfied each time.

Re: the price of the ESP, that's always negotiable. For example, the local Ford dealer wanted $2450 for my 6 yr/100K plan. Reading posts on this site, I had contacted a dealer back east (sorry, but I don't recall who but you can find it on a search) via email who advertised the same ESP for $1150. I showed the email to the local dealer and the price was suddenly $1200. Local dealer agreed to write my ESP into my financing so I agreed to the extra $50. The salesperson showed me the book with her cost and they made less than $100 on my ESP purchase.

If the local dealer won't budge, shop for the ESP elsewhere. It doesn't have to be purchased at the dealer where you buy the truck.

Hope this helps.

think we're talking ESP(extended warranty on physical parts of the truck) here.....not insurance for an accident.

If you guys like USAA, buy on!
