Please tell me you weren't actually crying as you wrote that incredibly long post. As I was almost finished reading all I could picture was a grown man with tears rolling down his face at a computer as he composed the worlds longest paragraph while listening to boyz 2 men.

Lighten up buddy, life isn't very fun if you get upset over others opinions on an internet forum. If you let people dump in your Cheerios they don't taste very good.

I know plenty of car dealers. Most wont do a deal for less then a grand. $500 is not very rare. At all.
I just sold my jeep to a small dealer. Stopped by to see him today, he paid me $8500 for it, put carpet in it $200, and his guys did some work on it $100 ish in labor, lets add this up shall we? $8500+200+100= $8800 he's asking at least $11k he told me. 11,000-8800=$2200.
And yes I realize he still has to list it and pay for that but he's gonna make well over $500.

Look guys-sorry if I pissed you off. That was not my intentions but yes I do take offense to the tons of threads where people are talking crap about their dealers and salesman. You would take offense too if the roles were reversed would you not? Millions of car transactions occur every month with 95% being happy but all everyone hears about is the 5% who had bad experiences which is understandable. Also, all people like to talk about is the boogey man dealers where they screwed a customer, got sued, and are all over the news-not taking into account the hundreds of thousands of dealers who care about their customers and run things leagally. So yes, I was sticking up for a career that has been good to me; filled, for the most part, with good hard working people from sales to service to parts, etc. And I meant to say that I dont think a dealer was going to take those trucks and sell them as new-although it was more long winded and petty than that and obviously rubbed people the wrong way-sorry. A 12 hour work day, I guess, can wear you down. I still dont think the majority of dealers would sell those as new without disclosure and yes they would sell those trucks as is or fixed for an insane discount. Just FYI though for people who would buy that if you trade even remotely often the hit on resale wouldnt make up for the discount or would be a wash-keep your trucks forever then grab the awesome savings you would get.

I know the feeling trust me. Not only do i work at a dealer, i work at the body shop of a dealer. As the painter. I paint 15-20 jobs a week. When 19 go out perfect, but 1 comes back, that's the only one 1 will ever hear about.

Not many people know how difficult other peoples jobs are. I've had many people say to me, "well you have the easy part, just spraying paint on." Wrong. Have you ever had to match a color that has around 10 different variations? Have you ever painted a 4 stage? No you haven't.

Also how many threads on here say, "the body shop effed my truck up?" Lots. I'm not going to defend that place, usually by the pics, they did mess up someones truck. All i do is point out what is wrong, and with my experience, suggest a solution.

Sure i get aggravated by some of the threads in here bashing body shops, but its the few, that sully the name of the many.

Be proud you work at a reputable place, advertise it on here, word will spread. But take everything else with a grain of salt.

Yes, especially when you sit around and spend half of it visiting "chatrooms" like this and ranting on your computer . . .
