ZBoater,
Once again, my truck is supposed to be under warranty. That warranty is not being honoured. I'm not alone.
I live on a pension and don't have money to throw around fixing things that should be fixed under warranty. Do you want to pay for my repair?
If you had actually read things, you would see that my truck has already been to three dealers in regard to is A/C (five visits) and next to nothing has been done. How many dealers do you think I need to visit before the terms of my purchase are honoured.

I read a lot of this and chuckle. I too have zero luck with dealers. My FX4's a/c sucked and I had some bandaid stench going. First shot was selling dealer.... they took my booking 3 weeks in advance knowing I live a couple hundred miles away. They got the truck and told me to come back and get it the morning of the appointment as they had no qualified a/c technicians available that week..... well thanks. Second dealer I bought my xlt from.... couldn't even be bothered to try... i was apparently too much of a hassle for the blonde haired bimbo service writer... Third dealer. ... local to me. Took the truck in and had it all of one day... but.... since it has an exhaust and an intake on it all they did was go through ids and try and see if it had been tuned to attempt to void my warranty. .. that's it. I asked the moron service manager how ids would diagnose the oily discharge out the vents... or the smell... he had nothing to say. They were even too lazy to hook gauges up and check pressures... or physically look for a leak. Oh well. My time is more valuable than that rubbish and I hate warranty anyhow. The a/c worked ok for the rest of the year and the smell has calmed down. If it rears it's head again I will hit up an a/c shop to repair it... or my last hope Ford dealer who has an excellent parts guy I can't say enough good about... and at least one good tech in the back. Who knows. I may luck out at number 4 and be overwhelmed. One could always hope.

Hey Green Gem,
I agree with your comments 1000%.
Somebody said earlier that there are thousands of Ford dealers in the US. Well, in Canada you may have to drive a hundred or more miles to the next dealer. And, yes, it is cold in Canada, but it is also hot in the summer. And, we pay for A/C whether or not we want it, because it is standard equipment. So, we should expect it to work, just like someone in Texas should expect his heater to work.
Somebody also said that Green Gem should not expect good service when he reveals his troubles on this forum. To that person: are you serious?? Is Ford looking in the phone book for a certain Mr. Green Gem, so they can put him on their list of bad people? I really doubt the contracted call center and the people who matter to Green Gem at Ford have discussed this case in any detail.
Good on you Green Gem. I have been through the "feel good" call center experience with another brand and it is all a big charade. Not totally the manufacturer's fault that the dealer is basically careless and dishonest. But, the mfg. should better control the dealer, who represents the brand to the buying public.
The best advice so far to you in this thread is to find an honest dealer and buy that product when your F150 wears out and your pension savings permit a new truck, even if it is not you first choice.
Green Gem, good on you.

Having followed your posts for some time, I suspect you did not require a call center to **** off your dealer. My unsolicited advice to you would be to sell the truck and buy something else as it seems to be significantly impacting your happiness. I've been to Alberta and honestly I can't imagine even needing A/C there, I've seen it snow there in June.

I don't know, we go roughly from -35 F to + 95 F where I am. In 75 F and above, windows down is my A/C.
Can you lead me to that post? If it is the one using the potentiometer, it sounds really risky to me.

I understand your frustration but like was said above, your issue is not in the majority. If they were having hundreds or thousands of people having the same complaint at once, there would be some response by Ford.
The dealers are really at fault here. They should be taking care of you without involving Ford. They are the ones that stand to make a profit off of you in the future as a happy customer.

I agree, but I'm certainly not the only one with this issue. I'm looking for a way to climb the Ford ladder to get my truck fixed, but I can't get past the useless customer service call centres. Any ideas?
Buying another vehicle from any of these dealers is unlikely. Nor will I give them good word of mouth advertising.
I've been working on this issue for more than a year. If anyone actually tried to repair my A/C, it should have been fixed in one or two visits.
