Jeep is offering a 6cly 240hp/420tq diesel in 2014 estimated 30mpg. How long before we see a 6cly in the trucks??? Just saying.

they allready have 2 6 cyl engines. ecoboost and the reg non turbo.

+1, thank you I should have been more clear. I think the CAFE increases in mpg will push the diesel opption in the future.

Diesel in a 150 would be nice..lower compression rate so the engine should last longer....diesel is cheaper to refine so it should be cheaper than gas...Even though it usually isn't...hopefully if there are more diesel options "besides the monopoly on the trucking industry" maybe the prices will come down below gas where it belongs. There are a ton of small diesel engines across the pond.

ULSD is not cheaper to refine than gasoline. The price of ULSD is not likely to come down from where is at as it can and is easily exported to very willing markets throughout the world. The major influence on ULSD price that would lower it would be a change in the taxation.

Diesel engines have a lower compression rate? I always thought diesel engines had a very high compression rate. I guess I stand corrected.
