I just had the 100 series put in my 12 XLT this winter, no regrets! Bought on ebay from Fairway Ford for $175.00, my dealer charged $50.00 for install & Flash! Works great! Ive got up the Claimed 300' range!
Hers a link to the 100 series, theres also a 200 series which has up to 1000' ft range it uses a seperate Fob, then the Ford app will work as long as you has cell phone service its app based closer too $4-500 plus 50.00 a yr subscription fee!
The nice part of any of these three R.S. Kits is for 11' and newer F-150's, is they're all Plug N Play... With a Dealer to Flash your truck of Course!

I also have the 200 series remote start. I'm one of the lucky ones that havean item that works as advertised. My cube is on one side of the building andthe parking lot is on the other about 300' away. Starts with no problem.Installed it myself in about 20 minutes and got the dealer to flash it forfree. Been worth evey penny this year.

Depends on the Series. The 200 series has a fob you add to your key chain. I think the 100 Series Plug and Play includes two keys? Google your model year and "F150 remote start" to see the options.

I also got the 100 series from fairway ford - the install took me perhaps 15 minutes (at most...couldn't be easier) then the dealer activated - all told maybe cost $209? And now I have 4 keys (2 w/ remote start, 2 standard) so the remote start is darn near free if you factor in cost for additional keys.
mine works great - I know it starts over 200', and that's from inside my office across the parking lot (concrete block building). I ran the antenna up into the dash so not sure if the factory installed ones have the antenna going someplace else?
anyway, great mod - very easy - and it's nice that the truck is warm and ready to roll when i am rather than sitting in it for a few minutes to give the oil a chance to come up to temp

Go here to see the different models available .........

This my second winter after installing the long range one-way unit in my 2012. It works perfect with great range --- even when it drops down to 40 below here.
The majority of complaints are poor range with the base unit ( the one with the keys ). This makes sense because there is no external antenna. Instead the antenna/interface module is mounted low in the vehicle --- behind the glove box and low powered transmitter (key ).
Whereas the long range units have an external antenna mounted up high and have a more powerful transmitter ( seperate remote fob ).
This has nothing to do with the remote starter.
That issue is caused by an inaccurate external temperature sensor reading.

and is temperamental as to whether the heating/cooling options will function as advertised.
