I have 5 of the pin connectors if anyone needs them. Should fit into an envelope. Send me a PM. I used 5 installing my folding mirrors (2 for each harness and 1 for the new switch).

I'd still rather go through the door jamb connector with the proper male/female pins, unfortunately, I can't locate them.

In any case, back to the question about the wiring on the truck side - does the proper wiring exist to make the mirrors work as long as there is a lariat harness in the door?

No, you still need to add the powerfold wire up to the door from the switch. I didn't drill either. I used the Tyco connectors to make it look stock.

I'm not articulating myself correctly...

If a door harness from a Lariat that was optioned with power fold mirrors from the factory is installed in an XLT, then the wiring from the door switch to the mirror should exist in said harness, correct?

My question is about the wiring in the truck leading to the door jamb connector - what is the difference between the Lariat w/power fold vs. the XLT without power fold.

I think I understand. The wiring would all be present in the door harness from the lariat. Is this a driver door harness? You would still need to run wires for the powerfold function to work. Typically the fold commands are sent from the seat module, which is under the driver seat. This is because they generally have the memory function for the seat, steering wheel, and mirror position. So the difference is there is no memory on xlt models, so they don't have those powerfold wires installed in the cab or the doors. Answer your question?

Yes - thank you. The reason I brought this up is because when I looked at the truck side of the door jamb connector, it looked like most of the large pin positions were filled, making me wonder if the wiring on the truck side exists yet is simply terminated somewhere along the length of the harness going to the seat (because there is no seat module in the XLT). The entire goal here is to run the wiring through the stock door jamb connector with no drilling and/or going around it.

I'd still love to get my hands on a set of Lariat and XLT schematics.

You might have better luck in the 2015+ section.

probably, but like Morris said, I'd look at the 15+ section for specifics.

Default Much appreciated planning on doing the wiring tomorrow

When you get to the drivers door find the same colored wires and pin #'s on the mirror connector ,and splice the 2 wires from the passenger side to the corresponding wires on the drivers door . At this time you will also need to pigtail a wire from the #7 wire to the # 6 wire on the switch which is a yellow/orange, and a wire from the # 16 to the #4 on the switch which is gray/brown.Wiring them this way will eliminate the need for the relay and a flash at the dealer, but will also eliminate the memory function. These instructions will work for you if you had power mirrors to begin with, and have the proper switch. I dont know about any other years or models, this applies to the 2010 , but it may be the same or similar for other years. Again Thanks to DONSMAR1 for the info !!
Just installed mirrors today and couldn't figure out how to wire the motor for folding but I'm gonna give this a try hopefully it work doing it on 2012 f150 lariat
