Excellent writeup!!

Glad those Tyco connector pins worked good for you - they make for a nice factory finish to the project.

I believe you used 5 of them - pins 7 & 16 for the plug for each mirror, and the wire into pin 4 for the switch.

I got them to install the power telescoping tow mirrors on my truck, and I have 6 of them remaining if anybody else needs them for their installation.

If you need them just PM me your address and I'll stick them in an envelope and send them your way.

EDITED: The connectors are all gone! If you need some, go to Mouser.com and search for part# 1719958-1 (see post# 133 for a picture).

I am gathering all the materials I need for this project as we speak. Seems like a pretty straight forward process, but also see lots of problematic issues as well. I will be sure to let u all know how it goes. Any final suggestions/tips/tricks?

My biggest concern is I'm going from a truck without power fold option, no led turn signal and no led puddle. The set I will be installing has all. Will I need to run wires for all to work properly or will the new switch I'm buying take care of it?

This thread is great, yet intimating at the same time!

dobbern: my truck didn't have those either but when I plugged in the mirror the led turn and puddle lights all worked.

As stated above, turn and puddle will work but power fold will require running some wires.

I was able to achieve power fold in my 2012 Lariat as well! My truck was fully wired for power fold (all pins full), but since it came with Max-Tow it had the non-folding tow mirrors and the switch did not have the fold feature, and apparently ford uses a different DSM.

Following Pimp-Boy's lead....I bought DSM part no: FMCBB5Z14C708A and Switch part no: 7L1Z17b676-AA. I just installed them & like magic my new aftermarket power-fold mirrors from 1AAuto fold! Memory on both the seat and mirrors appears to be working fine, as well as heat/cooling of the seat. I'm a happy camper.

@Pimp-boy - my thanks to you.

Glad you were able to get it working. I just wired up the telescoping portion and works great. Working on the lighting now!

Thanks to KR Kodi for the terminal connectors... makes for a MUCH cleaner install!!!! Thanks AGAIN!

Just saw your post on using a new DSM and new switch and was wondering if they will work with my new mirrors just received from 1A Auto, Part Number: 1AMRP01440 . The mirrors I received have a installation kit and switch( and that's why I think they maybe different than your mirrors ) but if I can get them to work with a factory switch it would be better. Can you tell me what mirrors you ordered from 1A Auto ? Thanks. I have a 2012 Lariat with max tow also.

Mine are 01415. I'm sure they would work the same way, as I understand it the only difference is the wiring kit, which you likely won't need by buying a switch and new dsm.

PS. Tasca was the cheapest but it took over a week for them to ship my DSM. I'd buy elsewhere next time.

I believe these are actually the cheapest (at $375 for the pair)

Do these power fold mirrors from 1A Auto have the auto dimming feature on the drivers side? I didn't see it listed in their description listing.
