Has anyone ever noticed how horrible the factory exhaust sounds at wide open throttle. It sounds "clanky", is the only way I can describe it. From 04 to the 12's they don't sound good or throaty. Thoughts;

Get your ears checked. They sound good. Sorry it doesnt have that poppy, backfiring glass pack dual rear exit exhaust that makes me think of a rusty *** chevy truck that Bubba drives with his friend Jimbob.

My ears are fine, Don't get offended or rude! I love my truck and they sound good down low, but listen next time to one wide open and you'll know what I mean. I don't want glass pack popping sound. Unbelievable response.

Probably is the smaller motors that wind out and produce that different sound.

I have the 5.0 and I am very happy with the throaty burble I get on acceleration. I have NO complaints in this department. Very happy with mine. You do not mention what engine you have. Please share.

You'll never hear it from the seat of your own ride. It's apparent that I've upset a few because I mentioned the exhaust sounds strange to me only at wide open. Even though I'm on my fourth f150, I'm wrong I know.

Swap for an aftermarket. Exhaust is almost always the first mod I do to anything I own motorized. Hell I even I had a Yamaha Big Bear 4x4 and put an exhaust on it. People I rode with thought it was the most annoying thing they ever heard. Stock exhaust are designed to offer the most compliant ride so of course they are not expecting people tone at wide open throttle often.

I felt the same way. It just didn't sound like an american V8 so I got a Corsa DB. It's fairly quiet driving around town but it has a nice rumble when you start it up and sounds great at WOT. Fit and finish is amazing.

Hey BobbyC, installed my Corsa today with no problems. Sounds great with a classy rumble. Highly recommended
