I'm glad I saw this before I made my own thread. I was also recently washing my 2012 FX4 and noticed the entire bottom portion of the rear door was not painted. I thought it was just dirty until I washed in the sunlight and it was pretty much just black with spots of white. Anyone have thoughts on that?

Pic? Just one door? And only the bottom? From the style line down? Without seeing it, it sounds like a lot repair, that is lacking quality. Many times when clear coat has white spots, or a section of white chalky areas, that means not enough clear. Not enough to the point where there is no uv protection. When the is lack of uv protection, the clear will delaminate, or peel and flake off.

Pffft!! No, that shop is bull**** dude. There's no way it's that much to buff out 2 dust nibs. Even if it needed paint, it would be $500 max. I just repainted the whole roof on a 14 fusion under warranty, the whole job(r+i's, repair the scratches caused in transit, prep and paint time) was less than $500

Can you post a pic of the estimate?
