Bring it in. Dust nib. Factory jobs are NOT dust free as most believe. Simple fix. Have the dealer file a warranty claim any way, in case it is a large enough chunk that can't be buffed. Then if it does buff out, they can change it to cut and buff.
I just did this exact thing on a 2014 edge yesterday. Big dust nib in the door. My manager thought it needed paint, and filled the warranty for paint. Got approved. I just wet sanded and buffed it out in like 10 minutes. He then notified ford that it buffed. They changed it all to cut and buff. Make sure they take the 3000 and 5000 to it, and blend the sanded area into the rest of the paint. Otherwise you will have an amazingly shiny flat spot, among orange peel. Any competent painter/buffer will know to do that... But you never know

So talked to my dealer, showed them. They said is should be covered, but to come back on a BRIGHT day so that they can take some pictures, and make sure to wash the truck before stopping by..so since the next week or so is Rain, rain and more rain..I shall wait. -_-

Glad to hear they're taking care of you. As others have said, it's not uncommon for various small flaws to make it through. QC can only do so much. And anything can happen along the way from production to final delivery in your hands. Especially during transit, ugh.
(Imagine the outrage if 'common' folks realized there's a good chance their car/truck had minor scratches or chips on their fender or bumper and that the dealer had to have their body-shop do a quick repair before it went out on the front lot. Or that they had to do other repairs to tires, bumpers, glass, head/taillights, potentially up to thousands of dollars worth if it 'fell' off the truck while being unloaded. And they don't have to tell you squat unless the repairs exceed a set limit).

So these are the pictures I sent to my dealership. They said they would work, but it's been almost a month and NOTHING. No update or anything..seems like it shouldn't take this long...

Perhaps I should have uploaded those on here using photobucket, they are very high res pictures and look blurry. But they one's I sent the dealer are crystal clear and you can see the blemished in them.

Personally, I'd weigh how much those blems bug you vs risk of exactly matching metallic w/ clear coat to surrounding areas. Also to mention that factory baked-on finish hardness only happens once. I'm very **** about these things. One reason I prefer opaque finishes such as Oxford White to those of you w/ beautiful but often difficult to match metallics...

Based on my experience and where I work, I have a few opinions, take them or leave them.
2 months has been way too long for ford to approve anything. Warranty claims I have been the tech on I have seen approved in a day or less. Especially paint warranty.
Secondly, these are dust nibs at best. Simple cut and buff, as I mentioned in my post earlier in this thread. Your dealer could have this repaired in as little as 45 minutes tops, as a courtesy. Which at this point, (nearly 2 months now? ) they should just do.
It shouldn't need paint, but if it does Sunset code D7 is a simple color. Any competent painter will have no issue with it. I never have.
