Default I see London, I see France........

And NO, it ian't got nothin to do with Underpants...

What I am refering to is the side view of the truck, I can't stand being able to see completely through.......It looks like it has a cheap 3" body lift on it.

So I got to thinkin.........What do I have that would work as a filler?????

I had some cut pieces of closed cell foam (packing material)

I measured the gap between the bed and frame, and it was 2 5/8", So I cut it a little wider for a good friction fit.

The texture is pretty cool after it's painted......kinda looks like Elephant skin.

After pre cutting and test fitting 5 peices, I wedged them into place....and they were really nice and snug.

Couldn't really put one forward on the drivers side, because of the fuel fill/vent lines being in the way, but you can't really see that far forward.

I think it looks pretty good, I'll see if they stay put after I run it down the interstate at a good clip..........I'll keep you posted

Oh, entire out of pocket cost ..............$1.67 (walmart paint)

Sweet. You saw an issue and found a cheap solution that looks great! Deffinitly keep us informed as to the hold. Is it just wedged in there or did you use any kind of adhesive. Also, I wonder how it will hold up to the elements.

Looks good, nice cheap fix.... I've bought that paint before at Home Depot for $.88 a can. Works great!

A solution in search of a problem, IMHO.

But, as long as you like it, is all that matters really. Thanks.

Quix,

No under coat......YET.

GT,

Look under your bed (truck) and tell me which has more ability to hold moisture, the bed cross supports (straight and flat) or the Frame cross supports???? atleast I am keeping any moisture from ever getting in to the Bed cross supports, the Frame cross supports are swailed in the middle with no apparent drain holes?????

Johnwill,

I see this as step one in the development process, you got any suggestions?

Evryone else interested......

I drove to work this morning at speeds up to 75MPH and they didn't move an inch. As far as durability (holding up to the elements) will have to wait and see, I'm going to make another set and use the plastic paint to see if has any better adhesion, and NO I did not use any type of glue/contact cement to hold them in place, just a little lager for a good friction fit.
