First tank of E85
Ell I broke down and put some E 85 in my tank Friday. It was 3.15 and regular was 3.39. So what the heck right. Well I've used 1/4 tank so far and I got 145 miles out of that. That's really close to what I get on unleaded. Also the truck seems more responsive and like it has a little more power. 2011 screw xlt 4x4 5.0. 3.55 gear.

LOL I did a whole write up tested 3 tanks of just E85 you will find that it seems more responsive but it is the computer advancing the timing because of the higher octane rating of E85. In the long run you will find that you get around 10-12 MPG about 2 to 3 miles per gallon less than you get on regular unleaded. the cost differnce in the long run has to be about 20% cheaper for it to make sense. So at 3.00 per gallon for regular 87, E85 has to be about 2.25 to 2.30 per gallon to make it break even. But you will find out good luck on your test....

I'm due for an oil change anyway so I figured it was a good time to try it out. Supposedly it cleans things out a little then I'll get my oil changed and prob go back to regular.

This.
And here in this part of Kansas...E85 is about $.15 MORE EXPENSIVE than regular gas. Makes it a no-brainer to NOT use it...not that I EVER would anyway.
Well...okay, I'd use it if it was under $2.00 per gallon...maybe every 4th tank or so.
