It's the "eco" in eco boost that makes people think it must be economical. Tree huggers and all that.
They should have called them power boost. Kind of like the Power Stroke. 70mph I get 20.7 mpg and what feels like plenty of reserve power waiting.

I didn't post to complain that my 6000 truck loaded up gets bad mileage. I'm complaining that the EPA ratings mean nothing. EPA highway tests at 55 MPH? have these people ever been to the western US? If you went 55 in Nevada on the freeway you'd get run over. It's not even LEGAL to go 55 in a passenger vehicle on a 75 MPH freeway. Freeway testing should be done at 65 MPH at least. this isn't 1950.

What part of UTAH did you drive to?
My eco is getting 19ishMPG here @75MPH. It took over 3000 miles before I really got the decent milage. I also like to use Etho free 88 gas, and that alone seems to help MPG
Give it some time is my opinion.
Cheers,
GREG

Took a 300 mile round trip this morning, 2013 FX4 screw, 20" wheels, all options, soft tonneau, 3.73, 75mph with the cruise on each way, some pretty good sized hills. Two 200lb people and 200lbs of wheels and tires I was delivering in the bed, 1000 miles on it total when I left.
With a tailwind on the way there, 19.6mpg reset as soon as I got on the highway.
With a headwind on the way back 17.9mpg reset again as soon as I got on the highway.
Thats 18.75 average.
The 2011 4x4 crew cab hemi ram I just traded would have averaged about 17mpg with the 3.55 gears.
As far as average mileage I'll have to wait a while to see how it compares since most of my driving is city, right now it doesnt seem much different.
I do like the diesel-like torque of the ecoboost, not sure on the 'eco' part myself but I like it overall. I didnt buy it thinking it was going to get anywhere near the EPA ratings though so I'm not disappointed.

I can tell you most of Nevada according to the weather reports was windy the past few days. So you had a wind effect.
Also I believe KILOFINAL, I have a buddy with a 4x4 screw 3.31 that averages 23 as long as he keeps it at 65. At 70 he was at around 21 and at 75 he was like 18.
