I also tried running 20lbs all the time----But i find it to harsh of a ride on rough roads when it's empty.

Now i run about 5lbs. Works great now!

[QUOTE=brulaz;1019502]Wouldn't you bet better off with a Weight Distribution Hitch? The air bags don't shift any weight around, so even though you're level, you will still end up with less weight on the front-end.

I also do run an equalizer hitch!!!

All in all great combo now!!!

I think that having the truck sitting level will help with that(Not A heat score)....Now if it was stock -that's the issue as you drive by. I've seen other trucks out there that should be pulled over.

My new trailers weight is 5600lbs and the tounge weight is around 700lbs, Polaris sportmans 500= around 800lbs and then the alum. boat and rack= around 300lbs.

Yeah i guess i'm over the weight limit...LOL But fingers crossed it wont be an issue....So far it hasn't been, But i dont always haul the quad. But i've also had every thing mentioned above and my WR450F in the box also. Still wasn't an issue.

What drives be nuts out on the BC roads are the other RV drives going below the speed limit and they wont pull over...And i also notice a lot of people out there without trailer mirrors...Maybe they cant see me to move over..
Not caught is hardly not an issue!
Alberta guys get turned back when overloading half tons with sleds on a deck.
Installed my airbags and will trailer this weekend so looking forward to that

You guys are overloading your trucks, I don't think that's a good idea - especially with a trailer behind you.
Hope you never get into a wreck, get your family or somebody else hurt or get sued.

No, air bags do not increase payload or GVWR.

I personally would feel confident in hauling a payload the same weight as a "max tow" f150 is rated for with Air Bags IF you have either a Posi or E-lock rear diff as both carry a higher load rating than the open diff. The FRAME, TIRES, and WHEELS are the same on the 7700# "max tow" trucks as they are on standard tow package F150's. The only thing different to increase the payload is slightly stiffer rear springs, and a stronger rear diff (posi or e-lock). In the end is all about how comfortable YOU are about potentially breaking laws or getting sued do to an accident.

Ok, so do people leave the bump stops on when they install Firestone airbags or take em off? They took mine off at install. I think im reading here that some leave em on..... Does not look like it could be done without modification to the stops and/or the top bag bracket.

As per firestone instructions I removed the bumper stops
I am going to put them back on with 1/4" shaved off .
Hoping my shocks survived the pounding they took yesterday .
