If you blame a wreck on brand new tires then I'd say it was operator error. Unless they were completely bald already.

You made the right choice by putting winter tires on.

Some people will crash their truck in winterif thay had chains all round.

We had a slush storm here last week and EVERYBODY couldn't drive over 45 kph. BUT ONE GUY was pissed that he couldn't drive 100 kph on the road. Go figure.

Glad you like yours. Mine were awful and changed at 1400 miles.

And yes I live in MN and yes I have driven a truck nearly all my life. And yes they were the worst tires I have ever had.

(Remarkably we had near 100 inches last year and the stock wrangler sra's on my 2010 fx4 worked like a charm)

very true.

Ive also got dedicated winter tires, cooper discover m/s and love them. Could I get by with the pirellis? Definitely, but there is no question the coopers are better in snow and ice. Heck in years past Ive went through winters with bald tires with no problems but now I can afford good tires so i will use them.

I thinkt he people who blame the stock tires on drifting, sliding and hitting something can't drive in the winter. I've driven a rwd ranger with bald goodyear RSA and did just fine. I just had to make sure I didn't stop on a hill.

We got hit with a snow storm. This morning it was -15, snowing heavily and the roads were completely white with ice and hard pack. My stock goodyears got me to and from work in RWD without any trouble. I had to climb some steep hills too. I think the advancetrac had a lot to do with it. When I turned it off I couldn't make it up my driveway in RWD

I too heard all these horrible things about the Pirelli's, and I've actually taken a liking to them. They're quiet and don't seem to be prone to developing a howl before being rotated. I've also found the snow traction to be very acceptable.

I'm glad to hear some positive things about the tires. I was getting a little worried w/ all the negative comments . All I got was light dusting here in ks
