I think I'm bored more than anything....

By the way, with D2's.... It looks like the reflectors in them are vertically oval shaped. Is the light pattern actually shaped as such or is it just for looks? If I were to turn a D2 on its side would it change the light pattern?

Yes. The "driving" optic is wide and short.

So it has more of a fog effect, where the light is wide side to side but short in how high the light goes. The output is actually opposite the way the oval shaped.

You would think, based on the shape, that the output would be tall and narrow but it is in fact the opposite.

Here's my setup. Idk why it posted twice but oh well. You can see my D2 in the bottom. I have the ecoboost also so I understand where you're coming from and not wanting to block the lower hole.

I think it would but may not be noticeable.

I run rigid D1 in the stock fog location and it's more than enough light thrown down the road. I had driving and then swapped them out for fogs which throw the light high and wide but not as far.

I use amber covers so I can have the best of both worlds, white when needed or amber when needed.

I just installed HID retrofits and they now blow away the LEDs so maybe use the money to upgrade your stock HIDs and projectors.

Rigid Industries vs FXR and D2S Osram Nightbreaker:

That's my setup

Retrofits with FXRs and Night breaker 4300 bulbs. Literally the best possible setup.

That's a **** load of light. I have 1 30" SR and it outshines my high beams (I have HIDs also) so much so that you can't tell they're on. An E series would *almost* be overkill.

But if you don't want a 30, I don't think there's any good way to mount anything smaller behind the grill. Unless its D2s.

Behind the grill there is only those two arms to mount anything to, having said that you COULD do a 20" E in the lower grille (but you said you don't want that)

Unless you can figure out how to mount something smaller than a 30 behind the grille that isnt a D-series idk what other options there are.

My brother has the same grille you do, and all that we spent three and a half hours trying to figure out any possible way to mount something other than a 30 inch and between three of us we couldn't figure out anything that would work for permanent use. (We install these things for a living, along with emergency vehicle lighting, there's just not a reliable way for a 20 to mount back there unless its not attached to the grille)

If you can mount it to the radiator frame then maybe, I just don't know how.
A 20 dual row is more than doable, just be ultra careful to not drill a hole in your ac condenser.

If you don't have an idea of where you want them, do you actually need them.....save that money and use it for other mods on ur trucks. You will find later exactly what you need and where to put it.

Ah. There's an idea!

I do that all the time when I'm unsure (and my wife says "why do you need that") that's a good call.
