I just order a 30" SR bar which will be in Wednesday. There are not many options on mounting but have decided to cut out the top section of my grill and mount there. I'm going to bolt with fabricated adapters to the two metal braces behind the grill. So essentially it will be inside the grill coming out the front.
I have the FX4 2013 model so the grill has large openings at the top, middle and bottom. The top opening seems best as it is the highest but also it doesnt appear to be directly in front of the radiator so it should block any air.
Many thanks Danny

I'm thinking about this too for my 2013 FX4. Sub'd this to see what you end up doing with it. I was going to just put some D2's to either side of the plate, but now that someone's trying this I might wait a bit to see how it works out for you.

I should be okay as I plan to cut only the portion I need to stuff the 1.5 inch bar through.
Depending on what time it shows up tomorrow I may be able to send pics during the evening. If not ill get them posted Thursday or Friday.
I bought all my aluminum angle iron, stainless nuts and bolts and a new saw blade. I've even already wired the in cab switch and ran the wires through the firewall ready to terminate to the Rigid harness.
Stay tuned!

No worries, I may need you to help me find a grill after I sawzall this one and destroy it. :-)

"A How to"?--sure, how to annihilate a perfectly good FX4 grill in 1 easy step. ha
I'm a lot more MacGyver than I am engineer but I'll try and capture the process if it helps another member.
I'll be back!

2013 FX4 Grill lights mounted--SR 30"
Well, the UPS guy showed up so I got to work.
Since I already had the high beam lead run and in cab switch wires through the firewall, all I had to do was mount and fabricate light into grill and run the SR harness.
Install was much easier than I envisioned and I think it turned out pretty decent.
I started with a sawzall but realized I could cut the fins in the grill with wire cutters just as easy and clean, perhaps even cleaner.
I started by leaving some of the fins in place to fill the space gaps but couldn't get adjustability from the light bar when it was wedged in too tight.
So I then just removed the whole top section so I would have 1/4 clearance top and bottom to swivel the light bar laterally.
I think the SR fits width wide perfectly and I mounted to my existing grill support beams with supplied Rigid mounts.
I did flatten the lip on the mount in my vise in order to bolt to the uprights.
Wires all tucked away nicely and now its a one of a kind FX4-----for now.
Here are some pics.
Also new lighted switches will be here tomorrow so I'll mount those and take more pictures as well as maybe a night photo.
Any comments or suggestions are welcomed.
Cheers

Here is how I spliced in the high beam lead to the Rigid lead just before the relay.
The relay bolted with an existing bolt against the firewall where the plastic trim bolts to the metal below the hood line.
I ran the wires through the plastic duct work in this same location across the back of the engine bay so you cant see any non-factory wires.
