Filling up procedure
After performing the "vent trick" when filling up the tank of my VW diesel the last several years, I'm back to a "gasser" with my new 2013 F150 Screw EB. My question is on how I should fill up the tank. Should I stop as soon as the fuel dispenser pump cuts off or should I round up the nearest dollar/gallon/etc.?

When the pump shuts itself off, I always stop! As clicking more to round up or top off will cause it to spill out! I also got the OEM Locking Cap for piece of mind.

before road trips I can squeeze 2 - 3 more gallons after it clicks. I just wait about 10 seconds for the fuel to drop into the tank between clicks. Some pumps allow half throttle which helps. Sometimes it burps on the ground within the filler neck ( not on the paint). Just wait a little longer and keep clicking. It sometimes helps to vary the angles of the nozzle. Most of the time I put 1/2 gallon more after it clicks and go on my way.

In south cali, don't you have those fancy no emissions pumps? I thought they were designed to prevent top ups in conjunction with capturing the evaporating gases? I haven't been to Cali in a few years but pumping gas with those pumps was a PITA if you weren't used to them.

^^ yeah, they are on there, but it just takes a little while longer topping off. Sometimes you really have to be diligent and be there a while.
When I fill my fuel jugs I have to peel back the nozzle "foreskin" (for lack of a better description...) and then shove the nozzle into the jerry can to create a tight seal then start pumping.... Jeezus, don't read that last paragraph out loud, the wife may think you're reading **** .
