Can these be painted? and how did they mount? I looked at a set of these. And also do you think the OEM mudflaps can fit with these mounted?

hell yes u do! my wheels stick out about an inch, and driving over a gravel road or anything with a bunch of debris and I will hear stuff hitting my paint up and down the sides of my truck. that means chips, fine scratches, etc.. and all that can be avoided with flares

yes you can paint them. they basically clamp on inside the lip of the wheel well and there are a few bolts too - everything uses existing holes or just a clamp, except you do have to drill one hole at the front of each front wheel well The front flares are actually two piece - you mount an inner piece then attach the outer flare to that (hard to describe). there is weatherstrip that you put on the plastic edge of the flare where it meets the paint - that both protects the paint and makes it look factory, i have to say the fit/finish is dead on with these (they even have it perfect where it meets that horizontal ridge in the sheet metal down the side of the truck). Overall took me about an hour to install all 4

not sure about the factory mudflaps, but I had purchased weathertech ones that were advertised as a no-drill/perfect match - I test fitted them before the flares but after install they don't match anymore so I returned them. Unless BW sells mudflaps (haven't looked into it) i think you'd need to use standard flat ones to attach to the flares. overall they seem to keep the grime off the truck and I don't hear rocks hitting any metal (and there are plenty of rocks and sand in the desert...) but when it was at the dealership a couple weeks ago it must've been driven through a glob of grease because after I got it home there was bits of grease all down the passenger side and all inside the front/right wheel well - but the flare caught most of it. glad i have them on and love the look

This.

Started off with no flares during winter, which wasnt bad at all until things started to melt.....zero possible way to keep the sides clean without them. when you turn the wheels they huck crap all up your side window and windshield. it gets annoying.

Got the most low profile/most coverage flares i could find and got them PTM... not 100% on the look but it keeps the rest of the truck looking nice. its a give or take thing.

and then not to mention...its illegal here to run with tires protruding past the fender well.
